1973 Datsun 240Z -race car Up for AUCTION: NO RESERVE Heres an IDEA, if you BID, dont be putz and give me some lame excuse after the auction ends with an excuse that you cant afford it ..ie bigkahuna185 thanks for waisting my time and anyone else who bid on the car. Time to build your own track car that at certain angles has a sort of Ferrari Daytona or Daytona Coupe look. this car started life as a low mileage 73 Nissan 240Z rust free , super straight chassis- body car (we didnt do the work, we are just trying to explain how the car got into its current condition and whats been done so far) Rust Free Arizona Datsun , that alone makes this worth building Last owner started by removing the roof, the did an abundance of fiberglass work along the body and rearend too. DRIVETRAIN: Engine bay is clean and straight just waiting for a drivetrain for todays standards. Maybe a 1JZ, small block FORD or GM, SHO Yamaha V6 or even a Datsun SR20 maybe. Original car was a stick so if you want a manuel trans, shouldnt be hard to do. These stock rearends are known for handling alot of HP, so you can prob leave it alone. RIMS & Tires, the possibilities are e-n-d-l-e-s-s !!! INTERIOR: Gutted as you can see mostly.. The dash is intact mostly and ready for your touch on it. Factory gauges all there. , pedals etc. Floors are very solid as you can tell from the pics inside and out. The door panels are both fiberlass now for lightness and easy to finish. Trunk had the spare tire well cut out prob for the use of a fuel cell. Cage was installed by the last owner and it really looks decent, could be chromoly steel, not sure. The radio seen in the pics below does NOT come with the car, just fyi. RADIO IS GONE shown in the pics... EXTERIOR: still much of the original Datsun Steel with some fiberglass additions. Would be cool to add your own HID Projector style headlights, and LED taillights too for race or street use. The rear body panels I think maybe be off a Miata in parts. Whats been done is actually nice and done pretty well. A 1 pcs tilt front end was also fabricated and works pretty well. Easy to use, not finished but a really good start. Vents built into the front fenders are a nice touch, not just or a good look, but help extract hot air too. Its obviously not finished. Suspension: Mostly stock, but I did see some aftermarket lowering springs in the car. Not sure what brand but they help the car sit at nice stance. This car is 90% rust free Arizona NISSAN RWD Modern Classic 240Zs like this come along far and few between. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. To the best of my knowledge this 240Z was NOT wrecked prior to the modifications. It was a survivor before the last guy started his "project" Probably The BEST represented Nissans on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end.
