Vehicle Detail
Here is a fantastic 1983 factory two tone Chevy G20 conversion van made by contempo. This van is in great condition for its age. I bought this van from my neighbor she was the original owner and kept it in pristine condition. This G20 has almost 80k original miles and passed smog immediately without any problems! The interior is close to mint. It seats comfortably 7 people. There are 2 bucket seats in the front 2 in the middles and a bench seat all the way to the end. Contempo made the conversion beautifully! All seats recline and swivel. A playing table can be inserted in the middle. The rear bench seat turns into a small bed. There are shutters for the back and vanity lights for every seat. The carpet, the seat covers, the headliner and all the interior is in great condition. The headliner is still nice and puffy. The original owner was not a smoker so there are no old smells inside. Mechanically this van is extremely sound. The original Chevy 305 small block V8 sounds just like new. It runs perfect and shifts smoothly. Brakes stop at will the original two tone rims are still in excellent condition. Tires have plenty of tread although they are showing some age wrinkles. The only thing that is not currently working is the Air conditioning. I have charged it a few times using the old R12 freon. It lasted a week or so each time. I quit adding freon after the 3rd time since I realized there was a leak somewhere. All lights, commands, gauges, radio, everything works (except the A/C). Although this 1983 van is in great condition it still is 30 years old so here are the flaws: There are a few small dents on the rear gate mostly the right side by the latter. Seems like someone backed into something slightly denting the gate. The front windshield has 2 round marks, 1 tiny very hard to notice and another one the size of a penny. These were already there when we purchased the van. As already disclosed the a/c wont keep the charge. 1 Vanity light (rear passenger seat) at times goes on and off. Tires although with plenty of tread showing age cracks. The fisheye round mirror on the driver side mirror has a fracture. We purchased this van this past summer so me and my wife could experience "burning man" for the very first time. Unfortunately we never made it out there due to work schedule conflict but we kept the van for eventual road trips. Since we purchased we put less than 200 miles on it. The van has been kept under a cover in Orange County California and only recently was moved into a warehouse by LAX.
