This is a 1968 four door Plymouth Valiant 100 which was purchased new by the original owner in Topeka, KS. The owner subsequently moved to Naples, FL and decided to trade in the car to a Ford Dealership in Naples. I purchased the vehicle from the dealership in 2007 and have driven the car very sparingly since due to family health problems and not having the time due to other commitments. The car's exterior paintwork is in really good condition despite some minor dings and touch ups. Even from close inspection it's difficult to find much fault with the paintwork and with a coat of wax it really shines. The rubber weather stripping around the windows is also in great shape with no cracking and that's because the car has always been garaged or under a carport. The chrome is also in very good condition with no rust areas in the bumpers where you typically find some wear. The front grill is very attractive and is completely intact and looks as if it just came off the factory floor. There is a red pinstripe along the side of the car that was a trim piece applied by the factory and it is encased in chrome trim and again in great condition. Bear in mind that this is a 45 year old vehicle so it's not perfect but I would say in very good condition for its' age. The doors all close as they should and the windows all roll up and down cleanly. The window glass is clean with no cracks and the front windshield and back glass are also intact and look really good. There is some minor surface rust under the rear quarters but it's surface rust and can be treated and then painted. The engine is all original and has not been replaced. The windshield cleaner/washer reservoir is cracked but it's just a plastic item and can be purchased for less than $75. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and with the Slant Six engine you have a very reliable power plant to get you down the road. The interior dash is in great condition and the vinyl surround is intact and has no cracks and looks really good. The instruments all work with the exception of the speedometer which flickers around the dial but my understanding is that this was not an unusual problem with these vehicles and may just be the speedometer cable which needs replacing. The odometer is working and accurately records the miles driven. The bench seats are all vinyl and are not cracked or split. The drivers side seat does sag due to wear and tear over the years but again it is not cracked or split. The headliner is original and not torn in any places. The seat belts are the originals put in by the factory. Inside the trunk there is a sticker for the jack instructions in case you ever forget how to jack up the car. This is the original sticker together with another original sticker from the 1960's when the car was serviced. I put in a brand new trunk mat to match the original since the original one had become torn over the years. There is no air conditioning in this car because who needed it in Topeka, KS ! I have enjoyed driving the car with the windows down and the radio playing. The radio is the original one and plays beautifully through the original car speakers. You can listen to talk radio or the oldies whichever you prefer. I have kept the car licensed since I purchased it in 2007 so it has not been off the road. I have clear title to the vehicle and it has been kept insured and in road worthy condition all these years. I have the Chrysler Certicard and the original owners manual together with a Haynes and a Chiltons repair guide which I will provide to the winning bidder. As you will see I have a 100% excellent buyer/seller record with E-Bay and I am an honest person who just wants to find a good home for my car. The vehicle is being sold " as is where is " and has to be picked up from the sellers home location. I will require a $1000 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close. All sales are final, no buyers remorse since this car is 45 years old and comes with no warranty.
