We are the second owners of this car, having purchased it in 2006 for an extra car for the use of our kids. Up to that point, we had owned Volvos only – mainly for their safety and reliability features. We decided to branch out to a car that would be a little more fun, but would still provide the safety (side air bags, for example) that we were looking for. Very few manufacturers in 2000 were providing this feature. We were correct that this car is A LOT more fun to drive, but it has also been more temperamental, particularly past the 80,000 mark. We have most of the receipts for repairs since we purchased it and I am including below, a list of the repairs completed since 2011 and the mileage (if it was written down) when the repair was completed: 76,558 Miles:Repair Electrical Short at Body Control Module Check New Ignition Switch Replaced Passenger Side Mirror Assembly 81,493 Miles: Replace Water Pump Replace tank (can’t read what kind of tank) Upper Radiator Hose Coolant F. R. Bumper Molding R/R Door Molding 85,678 Miles: Valve Cover Gasket Set w/ necessary Seals & Bushings Air Pump Bushings Windshield Washer Pump 90,483 Miles: New Tires p205/55/R16 RAP 91V/DOR Front Brake Pad Set Front Brake Rotors Rear Brake Pads Rear Disc Brake Rotor Air Filter Cabin Air Filter Oil Filter 96,905 Miles: Repair Vacuum Line to Pump Camshaft Position Sensor Exhaust Side January 2013: New Radiator fluid Replaced control arm bushings February 2013: Replaced aged hoses, valves, gaskets, and piping Oil Change Replaced 2 spark plugs April 2013: Replaced Crank Valve Case Replaced direct injection coils Replaced 2 spark plugs 110,916 Miles:Replaced Serpentine BeltNew Radiator Resevoir and Hoses We are selling this car now, because our son who’s been driving this will be moving to Europe after the first of the year and we no longer need it. As far as we know, everything related to the performance of this car is in excellent working order. The air conditioner, heater, power seats, windows, side mirrors, sunroof all work as expected. The tires have 20,000 miles on them and the car was smogged in September. Current issues: There is a small leak above the top part of the back seat. Since we live in southern California, and have very little rain, this is something we’ve just now noticed, so I believe it’s a new problem. We aren’t sure if the water is coming in around the antenna, or if the rear window needs a new seal. My son says the stereo is a good system but the sound isn't as crisp as it once was - potential problem with speakers? The interior of the car is fair: separations to both passenger and driver seats, separation of seam at top of back seat. Interior door panels need some cleaning. Portion of plastic vent system in dash is missing. As for the exterior, there are dents, dings throughout. The paint on the bumpers, hood and roof is alligatoring. The car was in 2 small fender benders (no structural damage) and you can see the dents along the side as a result. We have 2 keys: one is about a year old, the other is original and the remote feature no longer works. Lock to glovebox broken. Please email if you have any questions. I have tried to include everything I am aware of. I am not a car person AT ALL, though, so please email if you need more information. On Dec-12-13 at 07:49:32 PST, seller added the following information:I noticed that in the short description at the top of the listing, the mileage I stated is 110,925, but further down in the ad I listed it as 110,000. Please note that the correct mileage is 110,925. Also, I was told by the first owner that this BMW has the Performance Package. I tried to verify this by researching the features offered in the performance package and comparing them to the features in the car. However, as I mentioned earlier I am NOT a car person AT ALL, so please review the pictures and send me questions if you think I'm mistaken. I want to ensure that the car meets your expectations.
