1960 GMC Suburban Carryall Factory 4x4 K1001 1960 GMC Suburban Carryall 4x4. Incredible Green Machine! This vehicle was purchased new and used for mountain search and rescue by a local fire department in western Montana. The vehicle was virtually rust free for its age showing only 44K on the odometer, still having the factory chalk marks on the frame and firewall. I purchased it and completed a total nut & bolt, bare metal restoration/rebuild in 2009. I drove it for two years, about 6000 miles, in northwest Pennsylvania winters, which explains the lower outer panel rust. Repair panels are available at any 60-66 Chevy GMC supplier for about $700. I planned to repair the body back to new again but I’m no longer able. When initially restored every single part was removed, disassembled, cleaned, stripped and rebuilt. The entire body and frame were stripped to bare metal before epoxy primer and paint. I have hundreds of restoration pictures and will include a few with the auction. This truck is a pleasure to drive with the power steering, power brakes, AC and the leather buckets. It could be driven anywhere. This Vehicle is an original first year for GMC factory 4x4, Ditzler Crystal Green/Olympic white two tone paint with matte clear-coat, all PPG., Rockwell T221 transfer case, Dana 44 front and rear differentials, “Dualmatic” hubs, original four speed GM tranny, original 305A V6, VIN# K1001-CN-1203A. All original parts that I have are included with the truck including, original front/jump seats. There’re too many new or restored items to include but here’s a partial list. NEW: AC/Heat system(Old Air), All glass and seals including WS and door seals, inner fenders, stainless exhaust, alternator, Holley 500 carb conversion, power brakes, power steering, Cadillac Escalade (4) Front and rear leather seats, molded carpet, Complete Auto-Wire electrical system, HEI ignition conversion, Radiator and electric fan, WS washer system, starter, wheel bearings and seals, ring and pinions/seals/bearings front rear(3.92 to 3.54), fuel pump, 15” American Racing alloy wheels with 31x10.5 Firestone tires, Fuel tank and sender, shocks, clutch cylinder, wiper motor, mirrors, door handles, interior, brakes, wheel cylinders, brake lines, e-brake cable, fuel lines, canister fuel filter, rear brake modulator valve, Dynamat sound proofing(floors, doors and firewall), re-pro inner firewall insulating mat, door hinge bearings, clutch throw-out bearing, Classic Instruments fuel gage and clock, Battery(10/13), Shocks. Rear floor rubber matting with Stainless rails, class 4 trailer hitch(7pin) and brake controller, pan and valve cover gaskets, mild dash and door customization. REBUILT: Transmission(synchronizers, bearings, seals), Transfer Case(bearings, seals), Differentials/Axles(bearings, seals, new 3.54 gear sets), front Axles/hubs/seals/bearings, WS Wiper mechanism, Vac-O-Meter, Bat-O-Meter, Air inlets(cables and seals), rear sliding window frames(Powder coated, new tracks and seals), SUN volt and temp gage, water pump, door window and lock mechanisms, power steering gearbox, steering column, power brake master and booster, steering wheel, headlight buckets.
