Vehicle Detail

Frease Motorcycle Restoration has sold about 60 motorcycles over the past 12 years. This 1975 Honda CB550 is one of the nicest "original condition" bikes we have offered. This bike was bought in 1976 from a gentleman that was in the Navy. A Department of Navy parking sticker is still on left fork leg. The new owner, in his profession, has had to move quit a few times over the years and has always taken the 550 with him. It spent time in Colorado and Washington being ridden very seldom as noted by the 8,494 original miles. The only reason he is selling now is that he is moving again and has finally decided that he probably won't be riding it and would like someone else to enjoy it. It hasn't been ridden since 1990 in Oregon. The 550 has always, no matter what state it has been in, been stored in secure dry environment. This bike is really clean. Front fender looks like it was just uncrated. I worked at the Honda Barn in Lowellville, Ohio from 1972 to 1976 and put alot of these together. They were extremely popular and replaced the 500cc CB model in 1973. I believe it was one of the first Honda models to have a front disc brake. Tires are like new. Front is a Cheng Shin and rear is a Yokohoma. The pictures show condition but I always make sure to point out first any minor issues. Gas tank has a quarter size ding on right top of tank. I'm sure it can be fixed with the new dent specialists. There is very slight bluish discoloration on top of tank near gas cap, probably from an overfill. I took a picture of it (near end of picture pack) and , as you can see, it is barely visible. There is a 6" tear along seat seam. New covers are available. Seat frame is as solid as when made. When owner started cleaning the bike for sale it was cold and he cracked the right side cover pulling it off. He glued it back but it will need replaced. These covers are readily available on ebay. Bike drips a few drops of oil every week or so.That's about it on minor problems. Mileage is correct. Sissy bar and pad are designed strictly for this model...not a "universal" add on. Engine is clean....no top end or side cover leaks. Bike will need a new battery to get started. I also would suggest rebuilding carbs. Although bike will probably run OK the way carbs are it is always better to put rebuild kits on carbs not used for 20 years or more. Engine has compression standard for this model. Bike cannot be started but you can see by my feedback that I am truthful in my ads. Bike will run fine with battery. As I stated carbs may need new carb kits. If buyer wishes I can order battery and 4 carb rebuild kits at my cost plus shipping. Please email with any questions prior to bidding. Please list me as a favorite seller so you can be notified as I list numerous Hondas and Triumph motorcycles throughout the year. This beautiful CB550 can be picked up in Youngstown, OH (midway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland). If buyer needs time to pick up or make arrangements for same we will work with buyer and hold bike for a reasonable amount of time as long as bike is paid for within one week of auction end. A $500 deposit is required via PayPal within 48 hrs. of auction end. Balance should be in cash or bank check. If bank check or money order are given as payment they must clear bank or institution before bike is to be taken. Just noticed on picture of right side cover (with 550 on it) there is a slight crack on front edge. I had owner double check and it is as pictured. Also there is a little more pitting on rims than is shown in pictures where part of rims are shown. Just wanted to make sure ad is correct. Also just lowered Buy It Now to original $2,800. I believe that someone will buy it at that. Thanks to everyone that has emailed me about what a nice bike it is.
