Vehicle Detail

1971 Pontiac GTO Great candidate for a "Judge" Clone This is a rare opportunity to own an authentic code 242 GTO in triple green documented by the Pontiac Historical Society. The original paint was the beautiful code 42 Limekist green with the dark green Cordova vinyl top, and the Jade green interior. This goat has under gone a frame off restoration, so all the really hard work has been done. This initial rust free body was taken off the frame. The frame was then sand blasted and meticulously painted. All new body bushings were replaced at that time with all new springs. The original floors are super clean and were painted to match the color of the body. The original trunk is also in very good condition. The GTO endure nose is in very nice condition. The core support is included, but not shown. The rear bumper will need to be re-chromed to bring it up to the standards of the rest of the car. Also included is a very nice pair of the correct 1971 GTO grilles. This goat has the very clean hard to find original 71 GTO fenders that are not bolted on yet, but are valued at most likely $1500. The doors are solid all the way from top to bottom, and close like they did in 1971. The rear quarter panels were replaced with genuine GM quarter panels valued at $2500 alone. That is if any original genuine General Motors quarter panels could ever be hunted down nowadays. They are very hard to find, and are already installed correctly. The front windshield was removed during the frame off restoration, and will need to be replaced by the new owner. This was an accurate and correct restoration to insure that the body would come out laser straight. This goat has an original factory GTO air induction ram-air hood. Under the hood of this sweet GTO it even has the original numbers matching 400/300hp engine, with the correct PX tagged turbohydromatic 400 transmission. There are new upper and lower ball joints, and tie-rod ends. This GTO has the 140mph speedometer! The factory options include power steering, power disc brakes, AM radio, and factory air conditioning. All of the air conditioning components are present to make the a/c operable again. The factory Pontiac AM radio is also included. The entire interior is original to the car. It is in better than drivers quality condition with a nice console. There is a complete set of four raised white lettered Firestone SS radials on the detailed Pontiac rally wheels. An exorbitant amount of time, money, and effort has been spent into the restoration of this goat up to this point. What you see is exactly what you get! The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1971 Pontiac GTO with the 400/300 horsepower engine, rally wheels, and the air conditioning option listed at $59,670 in high condition, which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. $40,430 in average condition, which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a 20-Footer! They have the lowest condition value at, and $12,480 in the lowest condition. I believe after the restoration is complete everywhere this car is driven, it will be the spectacle of the neighborhood. This Pontiac is an investment that will continue to rise as these cars have proven to consistently escalate in value. Please only bid what you can afford. This car is for the guy or girl that always wanted one back in high school, or maybe wants to show off at their high school reunion to prove how cool they still are. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. I try to list everything I can think of when I write a description, so every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. This is a great winter project to finish off, and get ready for the spring Barrett-Jackson auction. It is well on its way to Barrett-Jackson quality standards, so anyone with some finishing skills can make themselves a hefty bank account. This model would make a great Judge clone. When was the last time you saw a triple green Judge? The answer is never!! That was my intention when I first took on this project, but some pressing financial issues have arose. This 42 year old Pontiac with the Gran Turismo Omolgato option is being offered at "No Reserve" on a quick 3-day auction. Don't let this one get away! Bid now and bid often!! This spectacular Pontiac will have a new home on Sunday evening at 6:45pm Pacific, 8:45pm Central, or 9:45pm Eastern time depending on your location. Thank You for taking the time to view my auction!!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
