Vehicle Detail
This is a 1929 Chevy three window coupe that has been built very close to a pieriod correct hot rod from the 50's-60's. It is the original body on the original chassis, with a clean title. The body has had most of the wood removed and square tube steel has been hand bent to match the coutures of the body and welded. There is still some wood, as shown in the photos, like the doors are still in original condition. The top has been chopped 4 inches and lexan has been used in the windshield and passenger door, driver door is still original glass, no glass in the back window. The seat, dash, gauges, and steering color are all in original condition except for the paint on them. This car will come with both rear fenders, running boards, bumpers, and all four pieces of the hood, also only one front fender. The chassis is the original chassis with extra cross members and gussets added to support the newer engine and trans. The rear end is a 8.5 inch Chevy out of a 1957 Chevy car with drum brakes and leaf springs with shocks. The front axle is a 1946 Chevy truck axle with a 3 inch drop and has been narrowed 1 inch, with leaf springs and shocks. The spinals are out of a chevy passenger car to keep the same wheel bolt pattern all the way around the car. Front brakes are from a 1955-57 chevy so parts are easy to find. The engine is a 327 Chevy with dubble humped heads, an iski cam, and flat top pistons, very reliable. The carbs are three Rochester 2gc's on an Offenhouser intake, set up on a progresive vinkage, so the center does all the work until about 60% throttle then the out side two "dumpers" open with only main jets in them. The out side two carbs have aluminum base plates and have been machined to the butterflies to prevent leaking when closed. The trans is a 350 turbo with a 2400 rpm stall converter. This is a very sound car for the year and parts that were used, i drove this car in the condition that it is in, from Iowa to California and back, from Iowa to the Bonniville Salt Flats and back, and from Iowa to Arizona and back. I could deliver this car to any of the lower 48 states for a fee, if you are interested, please email or call me at 515-802-4120, for delivery charge, or for any other info you would like on the car.
