Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1967 VW beetle with 61,359 original miles if you are unfamiliar with the 1967 the year is considered the most desirable and valuable year out of all classic beetles! I'm not going to go over the distinction between years but do some research as the 1967 is known as the "one off year" it has features that are only on this year!! The car has been stored in a garage since 1995 but was driven/ran often. It was bought from the original owner. Overall the exterior is very nice, the paint and chrome still shine! There is minor surface rust under the drivers head light (seen in pictures). The floors and battery tray are perfect and rust free which is hard to find! All the glass is original German glass and the seals are in good condition. The car is 100% stock and unmolested down to the spare tire and tool kit. Engine runs great starts easily doesn't smoke or leak. The car is equipped with factory heat and has the black interior that is in excellent condition and all original! If you have questions or would like specific pictures please email me. The car will need tires they have tread but do show sidewall cracking due to age that is the only item in need of repair to my knowledge. UPDATE: answering a lot of questions The car has been repainted in its past, sorry to disappoint! The condition in the pics is before a coat of wax it now has a little more shine! The exterior of the car is in excellent condition for its age with lots of life left in the paint. Again this is not a show car, it has NO DENTS but there are small chips, flaws and a scuff or two but it is a 1967 and was driven and used. The wheels have also been repainted by the original owner with the incorrect color scheme at one time. The fuel pump has also been replaced by previous owner with one made in brazil. The carb is the correct solex 30 pict-1 and the engine number is H0540992. The wipers work on both speeds low and high and the car is 12v even down to the sticker to prove it! Also the car is a 4 speed with reverse! On Oct-22-13 at 18:09:50 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 2 Found out more info on the car that I would like to share to the potential buyer...the passenger side fender is aftermarket and was changed by the previous owner for whatever reason when car was painted, I don't see any damage on the passenger side frame or body in relation to the fender that was changed. I can confirm that the steering is tight without slop or miss alignment issues. The steering wheel horn arm is missing a section to be 100% original but still functions as is. I'm in the process of giving the motor a tune up IE: change the plugs, check the timing and points clearance with dwell meter will update when done . The brakes stop the car but will need to be gone through to be perfect the car has been sitting and hasn't been a daily driver since early 90's. The car has the original owners manual with some service records/stamps in the book. I have also be getting more question about rust, I'm in the process of getting some under carriage pictures to show the actual condition of the floors but would like to clarify that the floors do show age and are not perfect it is a 1967 and they are original but there are no major rust issues. I also want to note that there is a small rust spot on the bottom of the exterior lower door hinges and 1 or 2 other very small bubbles starting when looking extremely close! There is a small oil leak by the oil filter/screen on the bottom of the motor, this is common on bugs there are paper gasket that leak over time there are new gaskets in the trunk will update if fixed. On Oct-23-13 at 10:56:06 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE # 3: Tune up is complete and the motor runs flawless, it ran good before but now its so smooth! The point gap is set to the recommended .016 inch and timing has been set to 7.5 degrees after TDC all per the owners manual. I see why the following is so strong for these 67's its a fun little car to drive! Every time I get to take the car for a spin I immediately have a smile on my face pulling it out of my garage!!! I will drive the car to work tomorrow and have updated pictures on the lift of the underbody. On Oct-23-13 at 16:58:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Informative note found in glove box from original owner giving some service info on the car: Body painted April 27, 1983 Following maintenance on July 17, 1986 @ 60,546 miles New front and rear shocks New front and rear Wheel Cylinders Replaced front and rear brakes Replaced right and left upper and lower ball joints Turned rear brake drumsOn Oct-24-13 at 09:01:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Email for undercarriage pictures/ rear interior pictures I'm having problems posting them...will try again later!!
