If you wanted to re-live or only remember the good ol’ days - why not start here ? 1970 Manx Style Fiberglass Dune Buggy in Maroon-Metallic. This a great looking and fun ride in the original classic dune buggy style. Solid fiberglass body with nice 2 tone interior and 2 tops. The buggy runs, drives, stops without problems. It is street-legal and titled as a 1970 model year, with clear AZ title. Headlights, taillights, turn-signals and stop lights are installed and work. 1600 cc dual port engine with dual-throat carburetor, custom air-cleaner and stinger exhaust system. External oil filter, electric fuel pump, 12 Volt system. Plenty of power for this lightweight. It has a roll-bar, turning brakes, oil pressure gauge, Empi short throw shifter, Grant steering wheel, roller accelerator pedal, old style front lap-belts, carpet, inside rear view mirror. Early VW taillights with chrome-plated housings, racing style aluminum gasfiller lid in front, chrome TLC headlights. It has a shiny presentable paint-job, but not perfect. Chrome steel wheels all around with new tires. King-Pin style front axle, swing-axle rear, drums all around. Wiper linkage installed and working, but no wiper arms mounted. The floorboards unfortunately are rusty; though it doesn’t take away from the fun it provides, if you really want to - new pans are readily available at any V-Dub supply store. Just like any air-cooled VW, this buggy starts up every time and runs like a champ. Shifts well, stops well, looks great. Comes with a tow-bar as well. The mileage is taken of the installed VW odometer. I doubt that this buggy has 80k on it, most likely it was taken from the donor bug. The title notes Box C, not actual mileage. No - it is not perfect. But - You are guaranteed lots of smiles per mile and whether you take it to the Sand, the Snow, or Mexico – it is pure entertainment with investment potential at an entry level rate!
