Vehicle Detail
Experienced Seller I have been selling on eBay for ten years, so I am helping my dad sell his Avanti R1. I have previously sold his Chris Craft boat recently on eBay with a very happy buyer. As an experienced eBay seller, I of course take full responsibility for the entirety of the listing and transaction, and I encourage you to view my positive feedback. Upon winning the auction, winning bidder will be in contact with my dad to coordinate pick up and payment. History This car was purchased from a fellow eBay seller in 2007 with 112K miles. The car spent its entire life in California until 2007, when it was shipped in a sealed trailer to WI. It has been garage kept and has never ever seen snow. it has a clean title. Included with the car is the original bill of sale, original window sticker, and the original California plates. It also includes a picture showing this actual car in the Antelope Valley Ledger Gazette on Friday Feb 22, 1963 with Bonnie Brennan of Mill Motors. The photo was taken in a booth at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, displaying the included original CA plates in the photo. There is a local classic car restoration shop that inspected this car recently when the underbody pictures were taken. The owner personally inspected the car and found that it is running perfectly. Something worth checking on Avanti's- he found that the Hog troughs, as well as the body, are solid. You can see in the photos that the rear axle is wet near the bottom. If it is sitting for a week it only leaves literally a couple of drops on the floor. If you are familiar with Avanti's, all of them do this.Condition The car now has 129,4XX miles. In 2002 at 102,000 miles the engine and transmission were rebuilt at a cost of $8789. In 2003 the 4 Barrel Carburetor was rebuilt, the car was repainted in 2004. In 2007 an original Studebaker power steering system was added, along with new tires, battery, water pump, and an additional rebuild of the transmission. The car is turn key and ready to go. The car starts and runs perfectly and the tires are in excellent condition. The only items that may need attention- the AC- works perfectly but needs a recharge. It was last recharged in August of 2005. The stereo is in perfect working order with the exception of the Alpine CD player, which displays an error message, so it does not function correctly.A customer $2,000 sound system was installed in the car with a new CD player in the glover box area. (the original radio remains in the stock location.)All of the wiring an speakers are already installed, it just will most likely need a new CD player. The clock and tachometer also do not work.Since my father purchased the car, the improvements he has done include refinishing the dash. It was done by a business in California, named Just Dashes, at a cost of $2,000. Additional details. From 2001-2007 the 3rd owner spent 26K on repairs and improvements for the car. Below is a list of additional improvements and repairs done between 2001-2007. Please see pictures for copies of work done and original bill of sale. -A/C Service, new water pump, heater hose and AC Compressor. -Fuel Pump diaphragm, new pinion seal. -Rebuilt Alternator, new voltage regulator. -Interior work done to recover rear portion headliner, new trunk carpet, customer leather steering wheel, -Replace master cylinder, rebuild wheel cylinder, and replaced regulator. -$2,000 spent on front and rear matching speakers, sound proofing, and Alpine CD player. This car has been described to the highest degree of accuracy possible. This car is sold as is with no warranty. If you have questions please ask!Why this R1? The Avanti R1 was the first car to offer disc brakes as a standard feature, this model also has the sought after Twin Traction option. This Avanti R1, has an automatic transmission, AC, stereo, seat belts, leather, great tires, a recent engine, carb, transmission rebuild, recent paint job, and a new dash. If you have been looking for a stunning classic car that is turn key, trouble free, with modern conveniences- this is the one! Happy bidding. Pick Up Buyer is responsible for pick up of the vehicle.
