Selling A Very Rare 1983 Audi Quattro Coupe aka ur quattro or original quattro in German. I am selling to finish up several other Audi projects I have. I'll buy one again sometime as I have had over 10 of these in my life already. Here is All the info on the car. I have to pull it out of the garage and take pictures. Made to replicate an RR UR Quattro 90-92. Only 664 of these cars came over to America. Ur-Quattros were built in Hall N2 at Audi's Ingolstadt factory. But not on a production line - every car was hand built right to the end. Although Audi's other production lines operated 24 hours a day and seven days a week, Hall N2 had a single shift of twenty working from 06:00 to 14:00, weekdays only. At its peak, including the janitor and the tea-lady, the whole team numbered 48. Each quattro took seven days and 40 hours of labour to build - with roughly three a day leaving Hall N2. Once completed, each vehicle went through a test program that is still the strictest Audi has ever used. The engine went through its own test cycle, and the suspension was electronically checked. Then it was run up to 160km/h on a test stand and driven for 60km on public roads around Ingolstadt - first on ordinary roads and then on the Autobahn, with a rev limit of 4000rpm or 185km/h. Then it went around an Audi test track to check the suspension. On each trip two stops were made to check fluid levels. Any test vehicle involved in an accident was immediately scrapped, with components being recycled into later production. Finally a rain test showered the car with 3500 litres of water for ten minutes - other Audi's faced the same test for only 30 seconds. Until recently the only comparable program today is the construction of the Porsche Carrera GT in Leipzig, but Audi has now returned to the fray with the R8. The ur-quattro was the first high-performance production vehicle to use electronic engine management - though the system was pretty crude by Audi's current standards. Well, it was nearly three decades ago. The computer (ECU) could "see" only boost levels, inlet air temperature and crank position - a set of internal maps then generated timing information, but there was no feedback on their success. Sadly, the absolutely brilliant Philips MCC was never fitted and a rather boring Blaupunkt Toronto SQR radio was chosen for the export market. Goodyear 205/60 HR 15 tyres were standard, on 6J 15" Ronal rims. As an option, 205/55 HR 15s were available on 7J 15" Fuchs rims. These were also used on the rally cars for gravel stages. Power steering, hydraulically assisted brakes, headlight washers, front and rear fog lights and a tinted windscreen were also standard. The wiring diagram was a mere eight pages. And hand-written. In German. Bavarian German. This car took 3 cars to Make with the Original Ur Quatto Born and raised in Colorado Rust free. Had been sitting a long time in a garage before buying it in 2006. Motor had a blown head gasket. Bought a 91 20vt 200 for the motor swap. Bought Audi Coupe GT Parts car for Dash and digital cluster. $18k in Restoration, Swap and engine work. This does not include the costs of the cars! Car has barely been drivin since 2008, just a couple hundred miles per year to keep her juices flowing. Car had 99470 miles on original cluster that I sold. Digital Cluster from the parts car had just over 135k on it and now has i little over 136k reading. everything works, including miles till empty, temp, rpm, mph, etc. Specs: Zermatt Silver Exterior with Tan Leather interior and tan and dark brown door cards. Interior is in incredible condition. Bolster are like new. Rare Color combination. Car was re-stored about 5 years ago. At that time underneath was taken apart body and sub-frame, under-body cleaned, re-under-coated and repainted. All bushings replaced, powder coated or painted everything from brakes, control arms, sub-frame, sway bars, etc. No rust before and now it will be that way for many years to come. Car looks like new underneath. Complete New 2.5" Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust with custom made stainless muffler and center resonator. Fully Wrapped down-pipe. Euro front bumper, flat Euro one piece glass headlights. Custom Sport Quattro hood replica made with resin(very light). Euro Rear Tinted Tail Lights with VERY RARE(Switzerland only i was told) Tinted Rear Prismatic Strip with rear fog-light that is able to fit the USA plate. All the rest are straight across and are not tall enough to fit a USA plate. Tail is in excellent condition. Digital Cluster and Dash from an 86 coupe gt. Euro 3 Spoke steering wheel. 20vt swap from a 91 200 sedan. No Mods to Motor, Completely Stock Except Exhaust. Stock Clutch. Pan and Valve cover Gaskets Replaced. Lot of new parts and other parts like t-belt, water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, etc. Had Radiator Reconditioned and flow and pressure tested. All the parts you would replace on an engine swap. Brand new OEM Big Rear Brakes from V8 Quattro which are vented rotors and not disks and easier to find calipers. Original Rear brake parts for Ur Quattro are impossible to find anyway. Rotors and pads are new. Calipers are re-manufactured and bought new. 17 inch Ronal Wheels to allow for the Large Brembo brakes from a Dodge Viper with S8 Rotors. Needs Tires. Never got to repainting the calipers with Audi Rings or Quattro or something other than Viper! But they are the same as you would buy on a Porsche. Car is extremely nice and rare with how it is set up with the European touch. I also have and will include the Original Ronal R8 Wheels. Note that they are the 6" not the 8" on the 84-85 years. Tires are in need of replacing as they are old now and are not much meat left on them.
