Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1993 Dodge Ram 2500, powered by a 12 valve Cummins diesel. It is a 4x4 with a 5-speed manual transmission. This is a western truck with a very desirable body style and drivetrain, and NO RUST! I have recently acquired this truck and know little about its history. It does have a new clutch and pressure plate, a new 1050 cranking amp CZA battery, and a new steering box. However, there is still some play in the steering that needs fixed. The body is straight, but has some small dents. (Please see pictures) There are some electrical issues that need some attention. The gauges often show irregular readings, and the speedometer/odometer appear to have stopped working at 220,000 miles. Overall, this is a very strong running truck that could be a dependable driver with a few small repairs, or a great building block for a full restoration. Having this truck for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction if the reserve has not been met. On Sep-13-13 at 11:03:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Please message or call (260) 375-6305 with specific questions. It's important to me the buyer be as informed as possible and satisfied with the purchase. THIS IS A LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY AUCTION.On Sep-21-13 at 16:27:41 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITION TO DESCRIPTION- This truck does create a good cloud of jet black smoke under acceleration. When listing this auction I it was caused by a previous owner installing larger injectors-the younger crowd actually pay to make these things smoke! A knowledgeable Cummins mechanic has told me this can also be caused by injectors leaking by internally. He said this causes light smoke when idling and the heavy black smoke under acceleration. The truck runs great and could be driven like this, but may need injectors to correct this. The gentleman also told me quality new injectors (not rebuilt) would be appr. $350 for the full set and are easy to install as they go in straight from the top. Again, feel free to call my cell with any specific questions and I will be more than happy to answer them the best that I can.
