Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1967 Chevrolet Biscayne 4-Door with a 283, 3-Speed and Air Conditioning. I purchased the car last Thanksgiving from what I believe was the 2nd or 3rd owner who garaged the car. According to that owner the car spent 10-15 years in Texas. The car is a cruiser and starts, runs great for a car 46-years old, and has plenty of room. The comment I get on the road all the time is, "hey, that's just like the car I grew up with." I removed the A/C Compressor to rebuild it. Naturally still have it. In addition to the car I am selling a complete 283 from Air Cleaner to Pan including another 2GC carb, exhaust manifolds, you name it. I purchased the engine as I was eventually going to rebuild this one down the road from a mechanic as Hoskins Chevrolet who had it in his '67 Malibu. He ran that 283 motor for me prior to purchasing it. New Parts / New Starter, Fuel Sending Unit (In Gas Tank, for Fuel Gauge) Basically you get a great cruiser, all the parts there, another complete 283 engine with all the parts for a good price. Again, great deal overall for a lucky family. Also, the existing carb looks news because I rebuilt it a couple months back. So, with the purchase you will get a newly rebuilt Rochester 2GC (original) plus another 2GC from the Malibu Engine. Those run between $100-200 dollars at swap meets all day long. Extra Engine Follow-Up / I have rec'd some inquiries of the engine. The engine came from a '67 Malibu. It was a recent rebuild in the last few years from a 90+ point jet black '67 that the current owner bought from a guy in Washington State. Amazing car and saw it run and it ran strong. Addressing shipping, I live outside of Chicago and can assist the buyer for the engine shipment translating in to I can secure it properly to a good pallet and drop it off wherever in the area (e.g. UPS, Other Shipping Service). Flexible there and naturally can load it for you in your pickup or other vehicle. Please keep in mind, it's a complete engine and a nice additional to this overall deal. I bought it, cleaned it up fully, repainted it, taped things off properly as I wanted it to look great. Additionally, the car has a Sony Bluetooth Radio, new front speakers and a radio remote. I had my iPhone connected up for music plus I could make phone calls. Very cool option! Please no zero bidders and if you have any questions I can reply to your questions fairly quickly. On Sep-11-13 at 07:37:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Added two additional pictures. One of the engine with an exhaust manifold on, which run between $100-250 for the pair, added the original fan, distributor cap, coil, plus it comes with a set of plug wires with coil wire. Also added a picture of the 2nd Air Cleaner. Those sell for $150 plus on eBay usually. On Sep-11-13 at 07:41:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Follow-up on valve covers. There is the set on the car right now from the engine I cleaned up and repainted and I also have the originals. You will be getting two sets. Air-Conditioning Unit Brackets / I have 100% of the brackets plus the unit/compressor. The previous owner had the unit disconnected when I purchased the car last year. Glass / Glass is perfect all the way around on the car.On Sep-11-13 at 07:49:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Drive-ability / I drive the car almost daily in addition to driving a minimum of 1 to 2-days per week for some distance, 45-minutes to 1-hour each way to. No overheating issues. I top of the radiator once a month maximum so that tells me the radiator is sound. Battery / New battery from last year. Strong one since I live in Chicago and wanted to make sure it started in winter without issue. Works great. Starter / New starter. Fuel Sending Unit / New, located in fuel tank so gas gauge works now. Didn't work when I purchased the car. Purchased that unit from Impala Bob's. Tire in Trunk / Full rim and tire in trunk, standard rim as seen on car.On Sep-12-13 at 04:10:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Radio / New Antenna, Original Radio comes with purchaseOn Sep-14-13 at 11:09:57 PDT, seller added the following information: For those interested in the car and potentially NOT the engine / I have received a good handful of inquiries about the engine only from those that live in or around Chicago to include people in Wisconsin and Indiana (plus some in Iowa). Due to the strong interest in the engine and IF a bidder is interested in the car only vs. the car and the engine there might be an option to broker a deal with those interested in the engine and purchase the car for the bidder price LESS the engine price negotiated. Basically if someone bids $5K for the car and we coordinate a sale of $1K for the engine IF you're not interested in the additional engine the car will cost you $4K at the end of the day. If it was me, I would want the additional engine as well but it depends what your looking for in the overall package. If you have any questions, on any type of deal, please call me direct at 202-679-5100.On Sep-14-13 at 11:19:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Lastly, I had a couple good conversations with some folks on car transportation and engine transportation. Personally, I have no problem delivering the engine to whomever up to, let's say an hour away, really. My family has a Ford Explorer Pickup and I can place that on a pallet appropriately and deliver it if you're interested. It gets kind of costly to ship big, heavy things so I'm willing to do that. For car shipping I have rec'd a lot of ranges for shipping. Before that, the car drives just fine and wouldn't worry at all about driving it 2-3 hours away. It's a 3-speed so it's not geared to go 90+ but it's perfect on the highway at 60 m.p.h. Shipping Costs (+/-) Open Truck/Trailer Delivery / Chicago to California, Chicago to East Coast range from $600-$800, maybe a tad lower with certain carriers. Times are tough for a lot of delivery companies so I know they compete like crazy. Closer examples are Chicago to Green Bay, a few hours drive, was as low as $250. If you Google Car Transport/Transportation you can plug in your information and when you hit submit you will literally get dozens of e-mails, texts and calls from carriers all over the country almost immediately. Pretty neat actually and you can check all their ratings and since there are so many options, they beat each other up on pricing quite a bit. Anyway, more than happy to work with whomever for proper delivery. Happy bidding!!On Sep-14-13 at 12:18:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Added a couple more pictures with extra exhaust manifolds from '67 283 from Malibu, A/C Compressor from Biscayne, all brackets, extra set of wired, washer fluid reservoir, restored brackets, heat shields for exhaust manifolds, etc.On Sep-14-13 at 12:56:18 PDT, seller added the following information: My delivery radius for the engine is limited to, let's say 100-miles. It's naturally a courtesy. Anything outside of that and as mentioned previously I will assist the winning bidder in getting it to their shipper, wherever within reason.
