1969 Austin America 2dr Nice Az Desert Find / Barn Find almost and NOT a restored Austin, but a great starting point if you are looking for a good project somewhat Mini The possibilities for this car are endless. LOW RESERVE - build it the way you want then any similar car for less $$ save big ! DRIVETRAIN: 12H motor 4 cyl. 4 spd trans Motor seems to be locked up from sitting maybe Trans should be fine. So expect to maybe rebuild the motor thats in it or do a nice modern restomod engine swap. EXTERIOR: originally the car is white and the body is pretty amazingly straight and very rust free. From top to floor its a nice solid AZ rust free car. Glass all seems good and even the chrome on the bumpers is very clean . Paint is really old and showing its age, but is okay for a daily driver. INTERIOR: typical cracked dash from the AZ heat, door panels dry and plastic is crumbly. Needs total interior resto to be a show car or a mild resto to be a driver when the motor is done. It does look very complete and original..... no keys. The seat covers on it are crunchy and very old. It needs a real cleaning and restoration. Suspension: this car has whats knows as the Wet Suspension and the cool thing about it, its still up and been sitting like this for about a yr. Dont see any leaks in the system... pretty cool option ! This car is very rust free Arizona car compared to any east-coast or midwest similar cars. The floorboards have some surface rust and are very solid. AZ has been hard on the vinyl etc and has been very hard on the plastics and rubber of course but the floors are still very solid and it would make a great base car to build the way you want or restore while you drive. Replacing interior plastics etc, is still way cheaper and easier then fixing rust issues any day of the week. Any bondo on the car is extremely minimal, door ding type stuff. This is probably The BEST represented Austin on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them.
