1980 Volkswagon Vanagon Westfalia The Good This Westy is complete, could be a very nice camper. The body is in good condition, aside from paint flaws and small dents. The Bad Needs engine work and smog certificate. No title, but some paperwork was started. Tires are poor, but will hold air for a while. The shift linkage is loose, I couldn't get it into first gear (I did drive it in second though). /font> I purchased this from a friend who never had it put in his name. It wouldn't run, so he took it to a "mechanic" who didn't know anything about fuel injection. This "Mechanic" hodge-podged a carburetor onto the intake manifold. Oddly enough, it does run, but not very good. I bought it and was going to get the fuel injection put back together. I purchased a new manifold (see picture) and retreived the wire harness from the "mechanic". I then had the notion to convert it to a diesel, so I purchased the mounts for it (see pictures), but never got the correct bell housing or engine oil pan necessary. I have two diesel engines that are included with the auction. One is complete, but has a blown head gasket. The other is incomplete, condition unknown (again, see pictures). The pop top canvas is pretty good, except for two small holes near the latch. The sink, stove and refrigerator are all in good condition as well. The auction includes a small radiator with two fans (if you want to make the diesel conversion) and a very nice but not new rear bumper. Please look at the pictures and ask questions I have represented this item to the best of my knowledge, it is being sold in AS-IS condition, so bid accordingly.
