Vehicle Detail

Hi All - As a collector, I am a somewhat frequent buyer and seller of old cars on Ebay so a good friend asked me to list his car for him ... I have driven and inspected the car carefully and would describe as follows: This is a near show quality correct fully restored 1963 Chevy Corvair Monza Conv...It's a 4 speed manual gearbox with the 145CID flat six cylinder engine and twin one barrel Rochester Carbs ...It has poker straight body panels with no evidence of filler or waviness ... two stage deep paint sanded down with no orange peel and few if any imperfections ... the chrome bumpers are straight but do have mild pitting and are the only area of the car I'd consider improving ... they are nice but not consistent with the level of the rest of the car ... the undercarriage is rust free and undercoated .. the interior is perfect ... carpet panels dash gauges seats all in excellent condition ...the engine compartment is correct and quite tidy as is the front trunk ... the top is in like new condition and fits well ... the suspension is tight the brakes are adjusted and work well ... the shifter and tranny are smooth and precise with no syncro or linkage issues ... the engine makes great oil pressure and compression is high and even across all cylinders ... the tires are new and the wheels are straight and true ... they are painted body color with correct nice hub caps ... all in all a very nice example.. My driving experience was surprising as the car pulls hard through the entire rpm range it's a pleasure to shift up and down through the gears ... it's got plenty of torque so you don't have to be working the car to stay in the power ... it scrubs off speed nicely in turns with nimble balance ... no significant under or over steer ... it's sort of got the light toss-able feel of European cars coupled with the bullet proof reliability and larger displacement of American muscle cars ... I'd expect these cars to catch on going forward as they have quirky beauty and four seat top down fun for way under the price of most more ponderous American cars ... My pal paid a lot of money for this car about a year ago when he bought if from a dealer in Fla. as he's not an experienced car guy ... he's asked me to put a very modest reserve on it as he is willing to lose money in return for completing an easy seamless transaction ... no trades please... talk to your spouse and have your finances in order before you bid ... call or write with questions or to chat about the car ...
