Vehicle Detail

1972 Camaro Rally Sport. First of all this is a REAL Rally Sport, not a fake. Do you know the difference? Well take a look at the parking lights on the front. Notice they are ROUND and above the bumpers. Fakes have rectangle shaped parking lights located under the bumper. Everyone loves the split bumper look, that's why so many people changed out the one piece bumper for the twin bumpers. BUT only TRUE Rally Sport models had the round parking lights. Speaking of Round lights. Take a look at the brake lights on this beauty. This was the last year that had them. Again, everyone loves those old school round tail lights. 1972 was the very last year you could get this awesome combination. Lets Talk Details: Engine is 454, casting # 361959. I've identified this as 1973-1985 block. Most likely out of a truck. Stock Bore is 4.250, but, as i am not the original owner, i can't verify that it hasn't been over-bored. Date Code: A24/77, this is stamped into the block and as far as can tell it was cast on Jan, 24th, 1977 Engine includes a few billet upgrades, pulleys, brackets and alternator. Rear End: I can tell you its a 10 bolt, and I believe it has a posi upgrade. I tested this by lifting the rear of the car and spinning one of the wheels by hand. When i do this, both wheels turn in the same direction. A non-posi rear end would spin in the opposite direction. Tranny: Turbo 350, 6 inch tail cone. pretty standard stuff Carb: 4 barrel 750cfm Speed Demon, part # 1402010 F Coil: MSD Blaster SS Coil, part # 8207 Intake: Edelbrock Aluminum Intake Manifold Front Coil Springs Upgraded: Eatonsprings.com part # mc1360 New front shocks Dual Exhaust, Headers, Fel-Pro Gaskets, NEW Delta 50 series FlowMaster mufflers and pipe. sounds really mean. Heater, wipers, headlights, tail-lights, blinkers, dash lights, all work. NO air condition, BUT THIS IS GOOD. AC box and related parts have been removed to provide a cleaner look under the hood. Many people don't remove the AC Condenser box from the firewall, due to the difficulty and expense of replacing it with a NON AC version. However, i did the work and spent the money to do the job right. A custom fiberglass AC DELETE box has been installed and the heater works nicely. The Interior heater box has also been modified, to reduce clutter under the dash and improve air flow. As a result the heater works in defrost mode only and it works AWESOME. Fan speed is fully adjustable. All Vacuum lines and related parts have been eliminated. This makes the heater system Incredibly Simple to work on. Less parts equals less weight, less clutter, and less worry. Tires: 75 percent tread 4 inch Cowl Induction hood. Wheels: are a beautiful Aluminum, and have an aggressive offset that make it look really mean. I love the way this car looks on these wheels, and so will you.
