Vehicle Detail

This was my first 2-wheeler. I have graduated to a 2006 Goldwing and want to give someone else a chance at this great little machine. I've had a lot of fun riding alone, with someone on the back seat (by the way, it rides beautiful even with another body on it), or with all of four Illinois scooter clubs. Its had a few dings, and yes, it has been dropped. Anyone who hasn't been riding more than 5 years has dumped their bike at one time or another. This sweet scooter has survived being dropped, and a number of body panels have been replaced in the time I have had it. The condition is fair overall, but mechanically it runs like a champ. Now to the features of this bike; It has dual headlights, turn signals front and back, and emergency flashers. Dual disc front brakes, single disc rear brakes. The suspension is adjustable for a comfortable ride with the rider, or rider and passenger. I have installed a 48 liter top box on the rear of the scoot to supplement the already spacious under seat trunk and the two front storage compartments and glove box. The controls are almost entirely on the handlebars as you might find them on most motorcycles. It has a parking brake under the right cowling. There a 2 rear view mirrors that are fastened to the body, not the handlebars. These mirrors fold in for safer parking and storage. When I bought the bike, there was no owner's manual, so I purchased one from Suzuki. Lots of very useful information in that manual. It was a great investment. The instrument panel is entirely digital. Even my Goldwing doesn't have that feature! There are also 2 trip odometers, and a clock on the dash (all digital of course). The fill tube is on the side just like your car, and it has a 4 gallon tank. There are no gears or clutch, its twist and go. it has a CVT (constantly variable transmission) so you never have to worry about shifting. On paper it will go 130 MPH, however, I've never had it over 90, and that was for a very short period of time (see below). The bike was purchased in 2010 from Chicago Cycle (just before they went out of business). I've had it on 2 long trips. The first from Chicago to Lincoln, Nebraska for Scootstock, a get together for scooters from around the country. The round trip was about 1500 miles all together. Last year I took it to Fairfax, Virginia to visit my dear lady while she was assisting her daughter. That trip was about 1600 miles round trip. On that run to Nebraska there was a short section of Interstate where the speed limit was 80 MPH. This is where I got it up to 90 for about 4 miles, but the head vibration (that is, helmet vibration) was a little too much so I brought it back down to 80. In addition to these trips, there have been countless weekend rides with and without other club members, and some one day rides to some of the Illinois State Parks, and along some of our rivers. In the winter, the bike went into a storage unit, and the battery went into my apartment where I put it on a float charger for the duration. I love this bike, and I love to ride. As I said in the beginning, there are a few dings on it. There is a gouge on the upper left rear top cover (picture included), there is a crack in the right hand headlight lens extending from the top of the lens to about the center of the lens. It doesn't interfere with the headlight operation. The left edge of the scooter has scrapes along it. Note that this is only the edge 3/8ths of an inch to a half inch, and it does not show from any distance. There is black reflective tape along the outline of the scooter for visibility at night. There is a missing edge along the rider's right foot pad which was there when I bought the bike. The windshield is stock, and has a couple of pads to mount an I-Pass, or EZ-Pass if you plan to do tollway or turnpike driving. I will not ship the bike. If you want it shipped, you will have to make those arrangements yourself. Note that the scooter is currently in Lakewood, Ohio, but it has an Illinois registration and I will ride the scooter to you if you are in Cook County, Illinois if you win the auction. Payment will have to be in cash or money orders, and you will be responsible shipping, if applicable, and all title change and registration fees wherever you are. The scooter may be viewed by appointment. all sales are final. Buyer assumes responsibility for the scooter when the transaction is complete. The scooter now has all 6 brake pads replaced with new pads. This robust, maxi-scooter has many times more miles in it than it has on it. If you think about it, 22,674 miles comes out to just over 2500 miles per year. How many miles do you put on your car every year? How much less would it cost you to run the scooter instead of the car that many miles? On top of that, it's fun and easy to ride. Make sure you are licensed to ride a motorcycle before you buy.
