Vehicle Detail
For sale is a rare 1967 BMW 2000cs. This Bimmer has spent most of its life in Colorado and has no serious rust issues which are infamous with these particular BMWs. The engine has been completely rebuilt using all original parts including a new transmission from a salvaged 2000cs. The exterior is presentable but could use some work. The interior is not in the best shape and could definitely use some restoration. This car is an extremely rare find and even has the coveted power sunroof! The power sunroof works great however the power windows do not (there are manual window rollers that work fine). Another original feature is the very rare Blaupunkt short wave international band radio. It also has the original rear speaker option. This car has 92,300 original miles. It has been garaged for most of its life. I have a binder of paperwork that describes everything that has ever been done to this car dating all the way back to when it was originally purchased. This rare BMW runs perfect and I have never once had a problem with the engine. Starts every-time! The only thing this car needs is some cosmetic restoration. The predecessors to the later BMW E9′s, the 2000C and 2000CS are really more striking inside and out than the more restrained but still elegant Bimmers that came after it. They are also extremely rare, particularly in the States and especially compared to the 2002 and most variations of the E9, which actually took its tail and roofline from the 2000C/CS. With a twin-carb version of BMW’s 1990 cc M10 engine, the CS made about 130 horsepower and weighed in at an only somewhat hefty 2,600 pounds. Top speed was around 110 miles per hour. It’s therefore quick enough to be fun, but with these cars what you’re really buying into is the formative piece of BMW history and that sexy, futuristic shape.
