I AM A QUARTER CENTURY PCA MEMBER. I PURCHASED THIS 1971 PORSCHE 911 T -TARGA IN 1988 AS A PROJECT AND OVER THE YEARS HAVE WORKED ON IT WHEN TIME PERMITTED. HEALTH ISSUES OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS COMPOUNDED BY A KNEE REPLACEMENT MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO WORK ON OR TO DRIVE. I ALSO HAVE A 1987 CARRETA CABRIOLET THAT WILL BE UP FOR SALE UPON THE SUCCESSFUL SALE OF THIS ONE. THE TARGA IS REGISTERED IN MASSACHUSETTS AND HAS PASSED ALL SAFETY CHECKS FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS. IT5 HAS A CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME. THE INTERIOR: PRETTY MUCH STANDARD. I HAVE REPLACED THE DOOR POCKETS WITH RS STYLE DOOR PANELS. (THE POCKETS OBSTRUCTED MY EXITING FROM THE CAR ) THE DASH HAS TWO CRACKS IN THE TYPICAL PLACES. ALL GUAGES WORK AS DOES THE QUARTZ CLOCK. THE MILEAGE IS ORIGINAL. I HAD THE SPEEDOMETER REBUILT, BUT HAD THEM PLACE THE EXISTING MILEAGE BACK. THEY SO CERTIFY. THE ORIGINAL AM/FM RADIO WORKS BUT I HAVE NEVER REINSTALLED THE OUTSIDE ANTENNA (WHICH I HAVE) BECAUSE THE PAINT IS LIFTING IN THAT AREA (I HAVE A PICTURE OF THAT) AND I WAS NOT READY TO TACKLE THAT JOB. THE SEATS HAVE NO RIPS BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE BOLSTER IS WORN AT THE STICHING. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, IT HAD AIR CONDITIONING AND THE VENT HOLES ARE VISABLE WHERE THE KNEE BOLSTERS ARE. THE TARGA TOP HAS A NEW TOP AND INTERIOR LINER AS WELL AS ALL NEW SEALS , PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT. IT HAS NEVER BEEN FOLDED. THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF THE TUB HAS BEEN GIVEN 3 COATS OF WHITE EPOXY PAINT. THE EXTERIOR: I HAVE REPLACED THE ENTIRE FLOOR PAN,THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE LONGITUDIALS, THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE ROCKER PANELS, DRIVERS FOOTWELL, REAR AND FRONT LICENSE PLATE PANELS, FRONT FUEL TANK SUPPORT AND EVERY SEAL ON THE CAR WHERE TWO METAL COMPONENTS MEET. I HAVE REBUILT THE PEDAL CLUSTER ASSEMBLY. THE TRIM HAS BEEN UPDATED TO THE "S" CONFIGURATION. I HAVE REPLACED THE JACKING POINTS, BUT NEVER USED THEM. THE CAR HAS THE 5 BEST FUCH WHEELS I HAVE SEEN, NO CURB RASH. ALL THE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 4000 MILES ON THEM, THE SPARE HAS NEVER BEEN USED . ONE BATTERY WAS PURCHASED LAST YEAR, THE OTHER IS 2 PLUS YEARS OLD. THERE ARE AMMCO CHROME GUARDS ON THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS, THE BUMPERETTES HAVE THE RUBBER OVER THE CHROME. THE CAR WAS PAINTED SOMETIME LATE IN 2008 WITH A SINGLE STAGE CHROMA ONE #2 PURE WHITEPAINT. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME LIFTING AS NOTED ABOVE. THERE ARE NO DINGS OR DENTS ANYWHERE. ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK AS DO THE DASH LIGHTS. THE LIGHT ON THE INSIDE TARGA BAR DOES NOT. I HAVE PEPLACED BOTH FENDER INSIDE WINGS. BOTH REAR SHOCKS ARE NEW, AND THE FRONT BALL JOINTS REPLACED. THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY RED, THEN WHITE, AND I REPAINTED WHATE AGAIN. ALL SIGNS OF THE PREVIOUS TWO PANT JOBS WERE REMOVED BY HAND. THE REAR WINDOW WAS NOT REMOVED WHEN REPAINTED BECAUSE I HAD NO CONFIDENCE THAT IT WOULD BE IN ONE PIECE WHEN IT WAS TIME TO REFIT. THE FRONT WAS. I HAVE USED MOSTLY STAINLESS STEEL NUTS AND BOLTS WHERE EVER I COULD. THE ENGINE: THE MARILLI DISTRIBUTOR WAS REPLACED BY A MORE AVAILABLE BOSCH. IT HAS AN IGNIGHTER IN PLACE OF THE POINTS, A NEW COIL AND A MSD UNIT REPLACING THE CAPACITIVE DISCHARGE. WIRES ARE NEW BUT I WILL REPLACE THE PLUGS BEFORE SALE SINCE I DO NOT REMEMBER WHEN THEY WERE CHANGED. I HAVE ADDED CARRERA CHAIN TENSIONERS AS AN UPGRADE. THERE ARE STAINLESS STEEL BREAK LINES WITH INDIVIDUAL BLEEDERS ON EACH WHEEL. THE CARBS ARE WEBER 40IDA WITH HIGH ALTITUDE JETTING AND PLASTIC FLOATS TOPPED WITH SPECIAL K&N FILTERS AND CONTROLLED WITH A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. THEY WERE PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT ON THE WEST COAST, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. ENGINE COMPRESSION WAS ON THE LOW SIDE ACROSS ALL CYLINDERS BUT THE LEAK DOWN TEST WAS IN SPEC. OVERALL: THE CAR LOOKS GREAT, THE PAINT AND CHROME ARE ABOVE AVERAGE, THERE IS NO RUST AND DOES NOT LEAK OR BURN OIL. I HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH THE SHIFTING AT THE LOW END, MOSTLY ME SINCE THE 87 HAS A DIFFERENT PATTERN AND I GET CONFUSED WHERE I AM . THIS IS NOT A SHOW CAR, BUT SHOWS WELL AND NEVER RACED. BETTER FITMENT SOME TOUCH UP AND ADJUSTMENT HERE AND THERE WILL STILL TURN HEADS IN ANOTHER 40 YEARS. PAYMENT WILL BE BY CASH (IN PERSON ) CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK TRANSFER OR PAYPAL.
