Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE VIDEO ADDED TO YOUTUBE: Go to YouTube and Search for "D. Tucson 1971 Vette" and it should be the first video in your results. The video has a few more pictures, review of book that goes with car, and engine start up, running, and driving/shifting car. Video is currently in 360, but will be loaded in 1080HD by the end of Wed. Also, folks wanted engine numbers. Engine date code L11 70 which is a December motor build. Block serial number is C11S107905 which matches VIN. Block code is T0I09CPH which matches 454, 4spd, LS5 1971 car. Cheers and thanks for the interest in this car.OVERVIEW: Extremely well preserved original unmolested, unmodified, unrestored, documented special-ordered Ontario Orange Deluxe Leather Interior 1971 454 4-speed PS/PB A/C numbers matching survivor up for NO RESERVE auction. I have owned this car for the last 18 years. Over these years I’ve put just over 3,900 miles on the car with a now documented 43,186 original miles showing. The car was recently appraised by Arizona Auto Appraisers (a division of AVR Group Certified Auto Appraisers) with a fair market value today of $41,700.00. My starting price of $24.9K is more than a fair starting price as I have reviewed 1971s and other C3s here on eBay and across the nation on specific Corvette sites. I professionally stored the car 8 years ago and just took it out on 1 June 2013 and changed the oil. Car fired right up, no smoke, no knocks, and shifts just like it should. Tires were dry rotted from sitting in storage so I put on a new pair of RWL BFGs, and the gas tank had a pin hole leak in it underneath one of the tank straps so I replaced the tank, the sending unit, rubber lines, anti-squeak strips, gas cap, and rubber boot. Take a good hard look at the pictures and zoom in, the paint is original and has not been touched up, buffed, or coated. The paint you see is the exact paint the factory put on it 42 years ago. The fiberglass and paint both show age in areas, but nothing major and nothing like I’ve seen on many other original untouched survivors and even some refreshes and repaints. A couple character scratches here and there mostly towards the rear areas but nothing major and most the camera can’t pick up. From 5-10 feet away its tough see them at all and when up close you have to look for them. If you look closely in the pictures you’ll see the original body glue lines under the paint on the sides and the rear. Again, I ask you to zoom in to every picture. I’d post more, but limited here in eBay how many I can post. All the chrome, emblems, trim fittings, etc are original and have NOT been refinished, rechromed, or replaced, they are original. The interior is deluxe leather and original as well. The drivers seat has the typically “sliding wear” on the left side from sliding in and out of the seat. The carpet and floor mats are original and the carpet on the driver’s side has a couple small tears. Again, nothing you would not expect from a 42 year old car. DETAILS: This car was ordered on October 10th, 1970 from Schukei Motor Company in Waterloo (now Schukei Chevrolet in Mason City) Iowa and I have the original hand written dealer order form with the following requests from the original owner; floor mats, luggage carrier, trailer hitch (not with the car today), 454-365, wide 4spd, power brakes, power steering, A/C, AM/FM Stereo, custom trim, and white lettered PU9 tires. As you’ll see in the pictures the engraved initials, date, and car number under the rear deck shows “GYR” “1-18-71” and “1151. I’m not a big documentation buff, but I’d guess the “GYR” is someone’s initials on the assembly line, “1-18-71” is the date the car was being built, and “1151” is probably the 1,151st car (Vette maybe) that the line had assembled (don’t quote me on the this, it’s just a guess. Vette experts and collectors will know what they mean). I also have the gas tank sticker that shows the options the original owner ordered for the car. I also have the salesman’s business card that drafted up and signed the order form and sold the car; the business card for the Schukei Dealership; the 1971 New Vehicle Warranty and Protect-O-Plate assigned to the car; the Chevy Consumer Info book; the Wheel Trim Ring Instruction Sheet; Owners Manual; and the Pre-delivery Service Inspection record. To summarize, the car was special ordered on October 10th 1970, built in St Louis MO on January 18th 1971, and delivered and picked up by its original owner on February 4th 1971. I do not know how to run a vin on a 1971 car, but I’m told I’m the second owner of the car. I bought the car in the mid-90’s here in Tucson Arizona from a couple getting divorced. I was told it was her car. In addition to the above, I also have an original 1971 Stingray Coupe manufacture brochure and an original manufacture print from January 1971 of the Ontario Orange 454 Coupe on the front and the entire tech specs available that year on the back including standard features, Interiors, Options, Power Mates, Colors, and facts and figures. All the lights and fiber optics on the car work as they should. The spare tire itself is not original (an old RWL Kelly tire), but the steel rally wheel is and it is up under the car still in excellent condition. The original rubber cover that protects the spare tire key locking mechanism is still attached and on the lock. The lock works and looks almost new from the cover being on it. Even the original ignition key warning buzzer still works when the keys are in the ignition and you open the door. Headlights and windshield wiper vacuum systems still open and close with vacuum as they should and nothing has been replaced in these systems. The interior lights all come on when they should including under the dash and in the back compartment. All exterior lights work including the license plate light and the horn works as well. All the instrument lights work as they should and dim when the light knob is turned up or down. Also included are the original T-Roof black protective covers in excellent condition and the original T-Roof strap for securing the T-Roofs in the back storage area. Almost everything on this car is exactly how it was manufactured and that’s what makes this car clearly standout in a crowd. This car always has more people looking at it top to bottom and inside and out at a car show than the $50K-$60K frame-off restored C3 it’s sitting beside. WHEELS and TIRES: The tires are brand new BFG 235/60 15s without one mile on them. Take a look at the picture and the steel wheels are original and not repainted or refreshed and the trim rings and the center caps are also original and not reproductions. ITEMS REPLACED: Items that I know have been replaced on the car include, new gas tank (I have the original tank sticker), spark plug wires (I have the ignition wire wraps), distributer cap, tires, spark plugs, one headlight (the other three are still the original T-3s), one brake light bulb, door wood insert trim piece (I have the originals). The water pump was replaced about 10 years ago due to it weeping out the weep hole (I have the original pump). Of note, except for the tires and gas tank, all the aforementioned items were replaced over 10 years ago and the car today fires right up. It should probably get a tune up since its been sitting in storage so long, but it fires up, cold idle, then warm idle, and sounds good. WHAT I KNOW DOESN’T WORK: The radio makes a scratching sound when you turn the volume up (I have a replacement radio that just needs to be installed), the A/C doesn’t blow cold (it blew cold when I stored it 8 years ago, probably just needs a charge), The clock doesn’t work (it worked fine when I stored it), the brakes work good, but they feel a little bit soft at the top (believe the brakes got some air in the line during storage and probably just need to be bled). I noticed there is a small weep of what appears to be power steering fluid from underneath but nothing that looks major (fluid is at least 10 years old, might just need to be replaced). BIDDERS: Winning bidders must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours of auction end I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Most banks and credit unions do not finance these older vehicles. Make sure if financing that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange for financing prior to bidding. If financing or using bank check, the Vette will not be released until all funds have cleared all requirements. SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will cooperate with reasonable requests to help. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS: If you are unsure about something with this vehicle, please ask before bidding or before auction ends. Do not assume anything not listed is included. I reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback and the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. This vehicle is also listed locally for sale at the same time. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning the Vette. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to eBay and negative feedback will be posted. Please note my feedback rating of 100% since joining over a decade ago. I’m a straight up seller/buyer and do not at anytime intend to leave anything out. If you ask a reasonable question you will always get a straight up truthful response. I’ve had this car for 18 years and if it doesn’t sell I may keep it another 18 years. I’m in no hurry to part with this truly original classic and at no other time in my possession has it been up for sale. LEGAL STUFF: This 1971 Vette is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. I have tried to list everything I know about the car over the past 18 years of owning it and all bidders/buyers should contact me before bidding/buying with any questions or concerns they may have. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer’s request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any statements about this vehicle. Again, please contact me via email here in eBay for further information or questions you may have. I will try to answer all reasonable requests for further info or specific pictures. Remember, this is an original 42 year old unrestored Vette, it is not and it should not be expected to be like a new C7 or restored/refinished C3. True original unrestored cars are only original once and this car is still original. Best of luck in bidding and thanks for looking.
