Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 House of Mouse Racing Consignments. Please see our website for information on current and future consignment vehicles: http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. Just consigned from a private collection is this beautifully-restored 1973 Chevrolet Corvette with 73k miles. This Vette is equipped with a small block 350ci/270hp and 4-speed transmission. The restoration was started 20 years ago and finished 3 years ago. Less than 500 miles have been put on since the restoration was finished. The body is straight and the paint is beautiful! The silver paint with the blue interior is a very sharp color combination. The car has a nice stance and street appearance. Everything has been restored or rebuilt with a few options added. It has been stored in a heated garage and covered most of its life. The car runs and handles like new. Everything works except the AC, which has yet to be charged since the restoration. FLY IN AND DRIVE HOME. The current owner/collector is selling certain vehicles from his collection as his tastes have changed. There is a low reserve on the auction to protect some value – but this is definitely a chance to purchase a nicely-restored car at a very reasonable price. If the car does not meet the reserve we will work with the highest bidder to try to make the sale. Body: The body is all original. No repairs or accidents. The silver metallic paint is in excellent condition. It is a base coat/clear coat system with 4 coats of clear applied. It is superb paint job. Paint has awesome depth and is a very nice paint job. Body gaps are nice and tight. All of the chrome is in great shape. Interior: Most everything was restored or replaced such as new seat covers, new carpet and door panels, etc. All the gauges and electrical components work. Drivetrain: The original 350 motor is all-original except for the cam being changed out due to factory issues with premature wear on some lobes. The heads were also rebuilt with new guides, hardened seats and a 3-angle valve job. Other than that, it’s all original components. The original transmission has not been touched. It operates and functions like new. A new Hays clutch assembly was installed. A power steering kit was added for ease of driving. Rear-end is all original. Driveshafts have been rebuilt. Original calipers are still present with new-style silicone fluid. Undercarriage: Is in excellent condition, no cracks or damage. All new fuel and brake lines. New body mounts. Emergency brake system was overhauled and functions. The frame is a Pipers Corvette replacement since the original one had rust in certain areas. New tires and trim rings. Options: From the factory this car was equipped with…350ci motor, 4 speed transmission, power windows, T-tops, and a/c. The owner has also installed the following improvements… · Power Steering· Cassette Radio (original factory unit comes with car) The owner performed most of the restoration work himself and the quality of the work is pretty close to that of a professional corvette shop (labor of love). A detailed scrapbook shows all the restoration work over the years. Most of the replacement parts are original GM parts. The restoration started in the late 80’s and is about 99% finished. Although this has been a long restoration, it presents itself very well. A few items need to be addressed since the car has been stored for years. The new steel exhaust is showing signs of surface rust, The a/c system has not been charged. There is some wear on the driver’s door panel and two tiny flaws in the paint. There is a small chip in the paint on the top drivers fender (pictured next to the penny for size reference) and an imperfection in the body work. Although the paint job is very nice, there is some slight mottling on the t-tops - but overall a very nice paint job. The fiberglass spare tire well has some minor damage the size of a dime where the drainhole is located. The carburetor is original and runs good but probably should be rebuilt for optimal performance. The brake lights are not working (fuse is good, probably switch needs to be adjusted). Note: Car comes with all receipts, clear title, 2 sets of keys, car cover Normal 0 Shipping: Shipping is the winner’s responsibility. I can help with local shipping and work with your shipper.
