Vehicle Detail

1979 Dodge D-200 Adventurer This ’79 D-200 is a survivor. It is a 2 owner, original paint, original drivetrain vehicle. The mileage is currently just over 100K. I believe this to be the original mileage, and the truck’s wear shows it to be original. It was last titled in 1990, where the mileage (on the title) is listed as 51K. I cannot prove that the mileage is original, but am confident that it is. The speedometer needle broke the other day and the speedo started bouncing, and has done for about the last 20 miles. There is no rust in the truck what so ever: --There are some rock chips along the rocker that have grown some surface rust, bust there is not one rust hole is the truck that I can find. This Adventurer was pretty highly optioned. It has just about every option available except for the dual rear wheels, 4x4 and sliding rear window. Options: --Adventurer Package --Power Steering --Power Disc Brakes --Air Conditioning (does not blow) --Cruise Control (inoperative) --Am/FM Stereo --Tow Package --Factory Trailer Brakes --360 c.i. engine --727 Torqueflight Transmission --Dana 60 rear axle w/ 4.10:1 ring and pinion gear --Extended Cab Sweptline --Full Wheel Hub Caps --Factory Dual Tanks --Heavy Duty Cooling--Factory large towing mirrors I recently had the original 360 rebuilt (less than 200 miles ago). We used all stock parts and went minimum over bore. Crank is standard, block is .010 over. The truck was sold new in Wichita, Kansas and has spent its whole life there. I have a lot of receipts for the truck over the years, as well as the engine rebuild. I also have the “Road Ready” key provided by Dodge when the truck was new. I have been told this was a key provided to the original owner by the dealership, once the dealership had done a “pre-delivery” inspection that was supposed to correct any factory short comings. This truck could use an exhaust system, the tail pipe is worn and bent up, does not sound bad or have exhaust leaks, but it looks a little worse for the wear. Could also use a new set of shocks, rides really good and is comfy… but I cannot tell you the last time they were replaced, new ones would firm up the ride a little. This is a great original truck; it runs great and is in very good condition for its age. This would be a great truck to haul your classic car around with. I hate to sell her, but My wife and I have 4 kids and we have just out-grown it. Feel free to ask whatever questions you like. I bought it from the 2nd owner and can provide you his information if you like. He has owned the truck since 1990. The original owner has passed away, so he is no longer available to discuss the truck, but the history of this truck is clear and it is a good deal at the asking price. Non-smoker vehicle, remember, it is the original paint so there is a nick and scratch or two. For 34 year old paint, I would give it an 8 out of 10. Truck starts, runs, drives and stops great! All of the lights (except the interior dome light) and the turn signals work. This truck is ready to go to work for you, or be in your classic Mopar collection, or do what ever you need her to do. I have a video of the truck if you would like me to send it to me. Send an email to me and I will get it to you. Thanks! Great old truck, will be sad to see her go-
