Vehicle Detail
Hi, thanks for looking at this auction. For sale is my 1980 Turbo Diesel International Scout 4x4 with convertible top. The interior is about year one old with new tan carpet and russet plaid seats. The floor sheet metal was replaced as well as the rockers. The floor was lined against rust and has aluminum liner installation (like used on roofs) below the carpet which makes the Scout ride really quiet and reflects heat away from the engine. I installed a roll bar and had 3 point seat belts mounted to it. The seat and cab mounts are new. The clutch was replaced two years ago. The tires are new with about 2000 miles on them, also included is a kayline rear mount for spare but it not mounted yet you would have to do that (spare right now is in back of truck mounted on frame). All hoses on the engine were replaced and a K/N air filter and the injectors serviced. It has a 3 inch lift. The windshield had a crack when I got it and I replaced it along with windshield wipers. It steers great. I replaced the rag joint and adjusted the steering column. Power steering works well. I replaced the headliner with a non-fabric one. Headlights are new. Doors have weatherstripping and open and close perfectly. One of the door keyhole on door is not turning, but locks work. Oil of course has been changed regularly and there are NO leaks :) I've never seen a drop of oil or any fluid under this truck the 7 years I have had it. 4 x 4 works. New radio and speakers installed. All gauges work except fuel doesn't go all the way up to F, but I never worried about it. All windows roll up and down normal. The AC blows but not cold, I'm in Texas and always thought I would fix that first but I guess I never cared, just rolled down the windows. If you're north of Texas you may not care either, or might just need to be service, like I said motor seems to work. Heat works. It could use a little body work and paint job maybe but I have had so many people come up to and tell me it was awesome as-is I never worried about it :) Old men will say hello to you all the time in this truck, previous scout owners and pretty girls as well, so must be good haha This is a great low mileage diesel truck that starts every time and gets good mileage to boot. If you're looking at Scouts you probably know about them so I'll only mention that this one is in great shape, well taken care of, and is a daily driver as-is if you want :) I'm going to post some videos so you can see it running.
