1974 Buick Le Sabre Luxus Convertible 455-4 “First off, I took over 100 high resolution photos of this car including the bottom, engine compartment, door jambs and you MUST look at them on Photo Bucket at the link that I have below or contact me for the link if it does not work, you will NOT BE DISAPOINTED”!! Rare find, pulled out of clean dry storage 6 months ago and I am the third owner sense 1974. They made only 3627 Convertible’s in 1974, 732 of these cars were big block cars with 455 engines which are considered a true collectors/muscle car in today’s current market which will only go up in value. This car was a special customer order from Busse Bredemann Inc, Buick Dealer in Park Ridge IL (stated on the build sheet, see picture) where it spent most its life, never driven in the winter from what I can tell/was told, it was driven in the summer months and was used as a parade car. The original owner sold it to a guy in Wisconsin back in the early nineties where it has been enjoyed in the summer months only up until 6 months ago when storage was lost on the car and I purchased it with intensions to restore it, however I have another car that I want to restore before this one and I don’t see me getting to this one anytime soon as I have way too many cars and not enough time to complete. After sitting along time, this car needed to be road ready again, I installed a new 4-row radiator, battery fuel pump, new rubber valve gaskets, had the carburetor rebuilt and the transmission taken out of the car to put all new seals as they were leaking. At this time the car has NO leaks (oil, grease, tranny fluid or antifreeze) I put about 200 miles on this car, WOW what a fun car to drive with the top down. I would not be afraid to drive this car across country and back again, set the cruise control (works) as it runs out like a champ, however I did notice while driving the car it goes down the road straight and wants to sway on corners telling it is time to replace the original front shocks as the rear ones are fairly new. The car appears to have its original 455 engine 210hp, casting number 1241735 stamped 455. The car has had a repaint I am guessing maybe in the eighties with Lacquer paint, it was a quick job by the looks of it because they taped off the chrome, not removing it. It looks really nice, shines well from the pictures, but once you get close you can tell it was an obviously a low budget in and out the door paint job. I did find some body filler/bubbles in the passenger side rear fender dogleg, it looks as if the lower bottom part of the fender was hit at some point in time and they just filled it in. The chrome on the car is in EXECELENT CONDITION; the body does have some door dings and some paint chips. Last summer a $2400.00 Pioneer Premier remote control radio CD receiver; 600-watt amp (both operation manuals are included and are in the glove box) with 6 speakers and a 10” kicker in the trunk, WOW does this thing sound awesome!!!! The tires were new last fall (about 1500 miles on them) Pirelli Scorpion Zero 255/45 R18 99 V which were $325.00 each and they are mounted on used Intanza aluminum chrome plated 18” x 9” which do have some pitting, mainly on the inside of the rims. Also added to the car about 2 years ago was the complete new exhaust system, Magnaflow Performance that gives that deep tone big block sound, but not loud enough to wake up the neighbors and of course the stereo will take care of that! Overall, this car is loaded with options and is in very good condition. The interior is in outstanding condition with no rips, tears, cuts and is just drop dead beautiful, however the dash pad does has a very small crack (about a inch long) at the very center front vertical seam, just right of the factory radio. Every thing works on the with the exception of the clock, maybe just a fuse never looked at it, the air is hooked up and blows warm air so this is telling me that it needs to be re-charged with freeont. This car is in perfect running/driving car that is very presentable for a every day driver that maybe some day could use paint to be show quality. The convertible top looks to have been replaced as it is in perfect condition with no rips, tears or damage of any kind, it even has the factory rear glass in it. All of the windows and door glass are perfect with no scratches, even the windshield in very nice. I also have the original rims with a very nice set of radial white wall tires on them and the original set of 4 Buick hubcaps that do go with the car if you want them. Do your research on this car and you will be surprised, NADA low retail is $5,656, average retail $9,031 and high retail $15,437 and then bid only what you can afford, nothing more!!!!!
