Vehicle Detail

1970 Dodge Challenger SE Nice Az Desert Find / Barn Find almost and NOT a restored Challenger, but a great starting point if you are looking for a good project Mopar Muscle car. The possibilities for this car are endless. If you restore it back to 100% original, you win. If you go off the beaten path a little with some 20" more modern rims / exhaust and mild engine mods - you win ! Dont chop up the body and you cant lose, its a sound investment. We sell alot of high end cars over $10k and our feedback proves we market our cars better then anyone. FENDER TAG INCLUDED: shows some great options ie: 230hp / 318 2v motor / auto / Hi trim including Tan leather bucket seats / full SE doorpanels / remote dr side door mirror / AC - Heater / 3 spd wipers / Belt & Drip rail moldings / 26" radiator and more.. DRIVETRAIN: 318 4v (motor doesnt look original , but has an interesting double stamp on the block, see pics). The motor has a few bolts mods and with a few pumps of the pedal, it starts up and runs pretty well too. The motor does sound healthy / trans and clutch work well as do the brakes. I DIDNT do the trans swap, and it could of been done better. But it does come with some new parts to redo the conversion a little nicer. (comes with a brand new crossmember and partial 4 spd transmission) which I believe is shorter for a more correct fitment. Also comes with a new center hump for inside the car for a cleaner, more factory look. Check out ALL the pics. Im posting #s off the 4 spd thats currently in the car for the larger Mopar bodies, who knows, maybe theres someone out there looking for the correct matching #s 4 spd for their possible E body out there. The exhaust is the worst part of the car and needs to be done correctly, when you see the pics youll understand. Originally an auto trans, the last owner about 20 yrs ago did convert the car to a 4 spd. AC , PS and originally PDB car. Rearend, stock and not sure what gearing. Gas tank should just be replaced, I currently am running it off a small fuel tank under the hood for now. You can try to clean it out but for what I new one cost, its really the first thing Id replace if you buy the car. To be somewhat of a driver, it just needs a tank (or cleaning) and some new tires. The factory 14" Mopar ralleys are a nice touch on the car but the tires dont have alot left on them. Correct caps missing. OPTIONAL: I have a set of 20" A/R rims with new tires I can sell to the winner if they would like, both are NEW IN THE BOX. I may mount them up this week and bolt them on to take some pics. IF I do, Ill post the pics. The 20" package would be an extra $1400 but Id keep the Rallys and bolt them on before the car ships. Loose in the trunk is alot of brite work, misc trim SEE PICS below EXTERIOR: originally the car was Burnt Tan, but the car was painted the current yellow (possibly Lemon Twist) about 23 yrs ago. The jobs not bad, but could probably use a good wash, wax and maybe even a good wet sanding and buffing. It does have a few areas where its chipping and not great. The pass door stripe needs repairing and originally the car had a vinyl top. So it will need the paint finished there or a vinyl top put back on like factory. The best I can tell there is no filler or rust repair when they painted the car 23 yrs ago. 92,000 Miles on the odometer, which is probably original. INTERIOR: typical cracked dash from the AZ heat, door panels dry and plastic is crumbly. Needs headliner as you can see and carpet is pretty beat. Seats not bad for d daily driver. Car could be driven as is no problem, but its just not pretty. All the factory PPG glass intact, console door missing. Pass door hinges are sagging, so it needs to be lifted up some to close correctly. This car is very rust free Arizona car compared to any east-coast or midwest similar cars. The floorboards have some surface rust and are very solid, while the only real rust on the car was obvious when opening the trunk. Its not horrible, but shows the worst part of the car. Some may just detail the trunk some more, install a new trunk mat and be done with it, while others may go the extra mile and fix the visible rust. Arizona has been wonderful to the cars sheetmetal compared to most Challengers this old, but it has been hard on the plastic vinyl etc and has been very hard on the plastics and rubber of course but the floors are still very solid and it would make a great base car to build the way you want or restore while you drive. Replacing interior plastics etc, is still way cheaper and easier then fixing rust issues any day of the week. Car comes with correct Upper and Lower Consoles too. The interior obviously needs total restoration but most of the key parts come with the car making it easier. All the glass is good and windows roll up and down . Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you go, Im sure I missed some info about the car. Any bondo on the car is extremely minimal, door ding type stuff. This is probably The BEST represented Mopars on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. I wouldnt say it was as nice as this one, and it sold for $12,500 to a customer in Norway. It did sell after the auction ended and no relisting was needed.
