Vehicle Detail
A retired fellow in Texas owned this car and was telling my boy about it. After looking at a few pictures, and talking to the man I decided to purchase it. This car is in exceptional condition for it's age, according to a professional body man here in the town we live in. The trunk pan has been removed and the new one can be seen in the pictures, it just needs put in. The floor pans on the inside are still 90% covered with paint. The driver's side floor pan has minimal surface rust. The car came originally from the Hamtrack factory in Michigan with Hemi Orange paint, a black vinyl top, electric windows, air conditioning and was equipped with a 440 engine and a 727 automatic transmission. To the best of my knowledge, and the man who owned it for the previous 23 years, everything on this car is original from the windows down to the wheels. The only thing missing, is the passenger side seat back and one of the beauty caps off the left front wheel. The fellow who owned it, as you will see in the pictures, has two of some parts like the radio, the oil pan and other parts. The last time the car was all together was in 1998 as you can see on the windshield sticker. At that time a berring spun on the crank and the engine was pulled. The motor has been completely rebuilt and bored out 30,000s and is ready to be put back together and installed. He said the transmission ran great when he pulled the motor. At that time, he decided to strip the car down and paint it. Some other projects took all of his time so he primer'd it to prevent rusting and it sat for over 20 years. You are welcome to come and look at it as I understand it is a large investment. We will be listing the car locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you have any questions, please contact me at 605-850-3932. On Jun-17-13 at 12:53:25 PDT, seller added the following information: We found the original fender tag. We have pictures of it but can't find how to replace an existing picture and upload this picture. These are the numbers starting left to right from the top down: R11 V1W V88 26 END C16 C55 G11 H51 M21 M31 R4 C6R R6 918 079235 E86 D32 XS29 L9B 145897. When we submitted the listing, we believed the car to be Hemi Orange, we were wrong, it was Red and Black. We apologize for this but after finding the fender tag, the VIN Number and the fender co-inside with each other and the numbers all match. If you like google search Mopar Fender Tag decoding and it will give you all the information on how this car was ordered. On Jun-17-13 at 20:03:29 PDT, seller added the following information: After putting the fender codes in we found that the car was ordered with vinyl instead of leather so I checked and the seats are red vinyl not the leather that I first described in the car. On Jun-21-13 at 15:08:56 PDT, seller added the following information: With all the requests we have had for different numbers on various parts, we got ahold of a guy with a mopar book to come and look at it. We now believe the transmission was replaced with a B&M transmission with a shift kit. No numbers could be found on the engine block. We apologize for any mis-representation on our part as apparently this is NOT an all numbers matching vehicle. Please feel free to retract any bids that were submitted based on the understanding that this is an all numbers matching car. Again we apologize.
