Well, it is time to part with my pampered and hardly ridden 2006 R1200 RT. This bike has spent most of its life in a climate controlled environment under cover. When I take her out everybody comments that it is a brand new bike. I have attempted to take pictures behind the cowlings to show just how clean this bike is. The bike is equipped with the following features: · ABS (This is an option for this year bike it is not on every 2006 R1200RT) $500 · Low Mileage · Recent New Tires About 60% remaining · Cruise Control · Heated Grips · Hard Luggage Side Bags (BMW brand painted to match) · RKA Luggage Bag Inserts for Side Bags $150 · Small Rear top Luggage Bag (BMW brand 28 liter painted to match) $700 · Seat Height adjustment · Electrically Adjustable Windscreen · GPS hard mounted and connected to the bike charging system $150 · 12V Power Outlet · Tilting Tank Bag (BMW brand expandable with map window) $350 · Autocom communication system that has a plug for music as well as cell phone. $300 · TripComputer (factory BMW) · Standard Tool Kit · Bar Back. Handle bar risers that put them in a much more comfortable position. · The bike was just serviced to give the new owner plenty of riding before the next service. · This bike has about $2300 worth of options. This bike operates and looks like a new bike. I would consider its condition way above average for its age and mileage. There is minor touch up on the saddle bag paint because they have been used as removable suitcases as designed. The scuffs came from toting them in and out of hotel rooms not road rash. There is a small scuff on the of the left head cover that has been touched up. I have tried to document these super minor items in the pictures. The front wheel had a light scratch that has been touched up. The rear wheel has some brake dust that will not clean off completely. (pictures) Other than that I know of nothing else wrong with this bike. I would hop on this bike and ride it anywhere. It is always stored on its center stand so there are no flat spots on the tires. I installed a brand new gel battery about a year ago. If you check my rating and research my feedback you will find that I sell high dollar items on eBay. You will also see comments like “Awesome eBay seller. Car exactly described. Seller went above and beyond.” I am not a dealer I just like playing with toys. I call it like it is thus my 100% rating. I was told by a prospective buyer that the state of Florida found information that the bike was damaged and rebuilt in 2008 and the speedo was replaced at that time. They told him that he would get a title with no problem but it will show as rebuilt. I was totally taken by surprise. There is no indication that the bike has ever been down and I was unaware of any prior damage. The paint on the bike looks 100% factory. All panels and sheet metal look 100% original. All gaps are 100% perfect. I have ridden it for miles at a time with my hands off the bars and it rides perfectly straight. My title is clear and has no branding and the title that I got from the previous owner a couple years ago was clear with no branding also. This really had me concerned so I took my bike to BMW of Pensacola yesterday to verify mileage and any repairs. They told me that BMW R1200RT have 3 different computers that track the mileage on the bike. They verified the miles on the bikes odometer matched the total km traveled in the bikes three computers. They indicated to me that it is impossible to alter the mileage on a R1200RT. They have certified that the mileage on my bike is 15,723. Of course I have a Repair Order from them with all this information. I was invited into the shop and told the mechanic the possible damage story and asked them to verify if the bike looked damaged or repaired in any way. He spent quite a bit of time looking it over and told me that if it was damaged it was repaired correctly and with all new factory painted BMW parts. He said that he did not see any indication that the bike was ever damaged. Many people call me too honest but that is the only way I know how to be. I am just calling it like I do with every one of my auctions, there might be rebuilt history and speedo replacement on the bike somewhere. If there is it could affect your ability to get financing. Nearly all states will give you a clear title because that is what you will present to them because that is what I am going to give you. Anyways, please take this information into consideration when you bid. Average retail on this bike is 10K without adding for low miles or the $2300 of options. Finally, please have permission from your wife, husband, father, mother, sister, brother, partner, banker, bookie or anyone else that could halt the purchase BEFORE you place an offer or hit buy it now on my bike. I report all non paying bidders to eBay. I do not cancel any of my auctions. Everything runs through eBay to protect us both. Money must clear my bank and be in my account for me to release the motorcycle and the free and clear, unbranded title which is in my name. Of course if the bike is not as described I would not expect you to follow through with the purchase.
