Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my Chevy SSR. It is titled as a 2005 but production history shows it as a 2006. Ricochet Silver over Pacific Blue. They only made 7 of these and they only made them in 2006 -- or so it says at http://www.ssrfanatic.com/forum/f4/rev-2003-06-production-history-8296/ If you're not already a member I'd highly recommend you check out SSRFanatic.com to find out everything you never wanted to know about these hot rods. This is my daily driver. Its NOT a show car. Its a car that is meant to be driven! It's just getting to that point where all these little things going wrong is just annoying me to the point where I have to move on. It runs great; like I said I drive it every day. But over the last few months I've put in a new battery, replaced the front tires, replaced all the steppers in the instrument cluster ( a common problem in SSR's), fixed the broken handle on the passenger door and put in a new ashtray because the stupid latch broke. The speedo and water temperature gauge work now but the oil pressure gauge is still pegged, and its not the gauge so it must be the sensor. The pressure is fine. Its just one more thing that needs to be fixed. Last summer I put in a new air conditioner compressor and I tried the A/C for the first time after this winter and now it's not working. It probably just needs a charge. Then, to top it off, I get ready to list it and the check engine light comes on with P0121 Throttle Position Sensor. The part is about $60 bucks and it'll cost you at least $200 if you have someone do it for you. Other than that laundry list of problems its a great ride. The front tires are new and the rear's will probably be needed by the end of the summer. I don't understand why the back tires wear out so fast. Maybe it has something to do with the 396 horse power LS2 power plant in front of that 6 speed manual transmission and posi-lock rear end. I have way too much fun in this car, which is probably another reason why I should sell it. Body and paint are excellent except for a couple little scuffs on the drivers front fender and a nice crease that goes thru the gas cap door on the drivers rear fender. Besides all the standard power everything, it has the Bose Premium Sound System and center console gage cluster. The bed is carpeted and it has the hard case locking saddle bags as well as the tow package and a removable hitch (which I have never even attached). I was thinking of turning this into a project truck. I think it would make a great Baja racer, Can't you just picture it with long travel A-arms lifted up on top of some big meaty tires and a multi-shock setup? It's already fun! How much fun would that be?! If I haven't' managed to talk you out of it, I set the reserve low because I really need to sell it before I change my mind. If you're not serious don't bid because that very next bid may be the one that hits the reserve and then she's all yours. If you win this auction I expect you to be good for the money. There's a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of the close of this auction and the remainder due when you pick it up. I will not do anything in regards to shipping. You must pick it up. This is an as is sale.On Jun-11-13 at 17:36:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I need to retract my top line about the Silver over Blue being only one of seven, its actually a one of kind custom paint job. The overseer of the Heritage Division of SSRFanatic.com researched my vehicle for me and sent me a 3 page list of all the production codes that go with this VIN and the two tone paint is not on it so it must have been done after it was shipped from the Lansing Craft Centre. It looks completely factory to me. Maybe this is how the factory guys got the idea to make this combination the next year. Anyway, sorry for the misrepresentation. I can send you the build list if you request. On Jun-13-13 at 17:04:48 PDT, seller added the following information: We got our first 90 degree days here in Colorado so I brought the SSR in to get the A/C fixed but it turns out its a broken A/C manifold pipe and its a special order item that wouldn't get here until the auction is over so I'll discount the final auction price by $500 for the broken A/C. While it was there I had them fix the P0121 Throttle Position Sensor and replace the oil pressure sending unit so the oil pressure gauge now reads true and the check engine light is off.
