Vehicle Detail

Guards Red, cork interior, 137679 miles, 3.0 liter Sun roof Coupe, original numbers matching car, I purchased this car in 2007 with the intent to make it into a show piece. I was divorced in 2008 and the car has been stored since. It has been started regularly and driven only 1700 miles since acquired. I have a number of books on the car and a small die cast replica, the original window sticker and all but a few years service records are in my possession. Hundreds of pages. I have added a stainless steel Stebro 2 out exhaust system (pricey) really nice classic Porsche exhaust tones and a Nardi wooden steering wheel with Porsche horn button. The original 3 spoke leather wheel was not on the car when I purchased it. I have a wooden Porsche shift knob which is not installed on the car. I also have a pair of Porsche fender badges, $250. They are metal with enameled Porsche emblem. Nicer than the true Ferrari scuderia shields which are outrageously priced. The car has 17" Porsche rims which I understand came off of a 2002 911. They look sharp. The tires while they have decent tread on them will need to be replaced due to age. I also have a set of 17" Lindsey racing P3 polished wheels in the boxes. They are new. These are custom made 3 piece wheels using the original 5 spoke Porshe Fuch wheel. They currently sell for approximately $1,100 each. I have new polished hand painted center caps for the wheels, new lug nuts and enameled valve stem caps with the Porsche emblem on them. These items are available in addition to the price of the car. The car comes with a porsche car cover. Carrera chain tensioners have been installed and the car treated right with documentation. It has a relatively new optima battery. Very few miles on it but a little age due to storage. The transmission and CV joints have been professionally rebuilt in the last 500 miles or so. The car has all of it's air conditioning equipment including a relatively new compressor but it does not blow cold. All of the gauges work including the clock, which is rare. The car presently has an oil leak but it didn't until recently. The fuel pump and accumulator are brand new. The car wouldn't start on the date I was moving it from my storage garage to my residence so I replaced them. Apparently the fuel gauge float was temporarily stuck and the real issue was that the car was out of gas. Because it wasn't being used regularly and because gas tends to break down and cause issues, I didn't keep much gas in it and what gas I had in the tank was treated with stabil. The car otherwise always starts, doesn't smoke and it pulls very strong throughout its 5 speeds as it should .The paint on the car looks good from a distance but I would repaint it. It has a few panels that have been resprayed at some point as they are shinier than others. No dents or rust on the frame or chasis and good alignment of all body panels. The underside is remarkably clean. The car was originally a California car but the emission and horsepower robbers had been removed prior to my purchase. Because of it's age that is not a problem in all other states that I am aware of. There is a little corrosion under the battery that I just noticed. The interior is quite clean for a 34 year old classic. The seats have been recovered as they don't match the leather panels in the car exactly but are in excellent shape with no rips, tears or stains. The original sun visors are soft and puffy but they are there and operational. The headliner is original and is unstained and taught. The dash does have a crack in it and needs to be replaced or recovered but is certainly serviceable. Pre Purchase inspections are welcome and strongly suggested by classic car collectors. I believe I have done a pretty good job of describing the car in detail. I am no expert however and the car is being sold "as is" without warranties. This is an excellent example of a timeless classic. Unfortunately life circumstances change and with 3 kids in college, this project isn't on my list of priorities at present. The car needs a good and caring home/garage. It is fun to drive and while I have not attempted any long road trips in it, it has made several, say 250 mile round trip jaunts, without incident. It has never left me stranded and I have driven it to the office a half dozen or so times in the past just for grins. Lastly, the car does not have a spare tire, jack or the tool kit. On Jun-10-13 at 14:04:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a brief update. A gentleman came by to inspect the vehicle this morning. It had not been started in several weeks and fired right up on the initial turn of the key and settled into a nice idle very quickly. In connection with his inspection, I observed that the vehicle does in fact have a spare tire under the front hood (under the carpet.) It is the inflatable type with a rim and tire. It is not inflated and any inflation device appears to be absent. There is also a lug wrench present but no tool roll or bag. This is inconsistent with my initial listing where I said there was no spare tire, jack or tools. I guess I forgot about the spare or just missed it. It should be also noted that the corrosion reported in the battery well is just a layer of peeling paint, likely due to some battery acid in the past. There is no rust or issue other than the paint on the bottom of the well is begining to flake off. There have been some questions regarding this area so I posted several pictures as well.
