Vehicle Detail
BMW 1992 K100RS 16 Valve ******************* Auction is for this 1992 BMW K100RS ******************** Up for bid is my 92 K100RS, never thought I'd sell it, but I need the cash. I bought this bike from the original owner back in 2007 at Mid Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days. He trailered it to the event I took one look at it and I bought it on the spot. He said he bought it new in 92 and rode it till 97. He said he got one too many speeding tickets so he quit riding it. He took out the battery, drained all the fluids, covered it and parked it in his house for 10 years until 2007. I brought it home, put in some fresh oils (Mobil 1), stuck in a new battery and it fired right up...purred like a kitten. The bike had 9229 miles on it when I bought it and now it has 16064, so in the 5 years that I've owned it I've put less than 7000 on it. Tires are new there's not even 100 miles on them... Pirelli up front and a Bridgestone Battlax in the rear. Bike is always garaged, never left outside. In the 5 years that I've owned it I've bought some accessories. New Corbin Seat $350, New Aeroflow Windshield $300, Throttle Meister Cruise Control $119, Bagster Tank Cover $150, DR Engineering Rack $100, NOS KONI Shock $200. Touring bags are from a 1995 R100RT, Which are the same bags used on these K bikes. The rack required taking off the two side handles, they are included and are like new also. I busted the tail light lens today, pulled it up on the centerstand and the lens met the handlebars of a Quad....$#@&(&$#@!!! The only problem that I've had with it is the ABS warning light flashing, it hasn't really been a big problem I've been riding it that way for about 2 years, I've tried to remedy it myself, but I'm not that keen when it come to electrics. From what I've read online it needs to be reset (unplugged) then plugged back in. The fork seals are original, but I' haven't noticed much residue on the tubes. The bike runs great, this bike was designed for the Autobahn, it's a very nice Sport Tourer, it's smoother at 80 mph than it is at 55. Reserve is set low for a bike of this caliber. I know I'm going to miss it, but it has to go :( ******************** HAPPY BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK!
