RELISTED WITH LOWER RESERVE PRICE. I purchased this 1959 Edsel in 2007 for $3,800 and have invested about $2,000 since then. I am selling because I lack the skills, time and resources to give it proper care. I drove it infrequently for about three years before parking it about two years ago. It was running at that time, but I have not started it since then. It was parked inside part of the time, and has been outside under a cover for part of the time. It would probably have to be towed or trailered from here. Brakes were completely redone, water pump and hoses replaced. Previous owner replaced tires and radiator. There is extensive surface rust all over the body and pitting of the chrome, but as far as I know, there is no rust-through in body panels or floor. I have not been under the car; my mechanic said the surface rust was there, and the exhaust system is pretty rusted, but still functioning. There may be bondo above one of the rear wheels, but there's no other as far as I know. Some of the pictures in the original listing were taken at the time I purchased it; those have been deleted, and all photos now are current. There would be a lot of work for a full restoration, but this could be a fun driver, rat rod, or parts car for another restoration project. Only 120,000 Edsels were made during the three-year production run and only about 5,000 to 6,000 are estimated to have survived.
