The bike had been sitting for 29 years.I have a copy of the original eBay listing and will hand over a copy to buyer. At date of my purchase, the bike had 700 origional miles. Since then I have put over $2500 into the bike, all mechanical work done by motorcycle mechanics. I have all receipts/ mechanic bills in possession; I will hand over copies to the buyer. Work in 2008: -All 4 carburetors were rebuilt -Valves adjusted -Rebuilt front brake caliper and master -New points, plugs, and oil filter-New front headlight and headlight bucket-New Clutch Handle-New Clutch Cable-New Clutch kit and gaskets-Oil changeTotal parts + labor: $1259 Put in winter storage and work done over winter 2008-2009 (803 miles):-New handlebars and fork seal-New fuse holder and fuses -New Kenda front and rear tire-Carbs cleaned and synchronized-Replaced intake o-rings Total parts + labor: $1071 Work I have done myself: -Painted side panels -Custom mounted rear turn signals (they were strapped on at time of purchase)-Replaced all bulbs including signals, instrument panel, and tail light-Napoleon bar end mirrors-Replaced speedometer (used but original) and speedometer cable (new) -NOTE: Mileage shown on odometer is not accurate, it is from the used speedometer I purchased-Replaced tachometer (used but origional - bought with dent) and tachometer cable (new)-Oil change before after last rode season-Chain kept maintained and lubricated -Always winterized and garage kept in off season Like every vintage bike, here's the story: I bought the bike on eBay in 2007 from a someone who bought it at a barn sale. The engine was running fine, but the rest of the bike need a little work. That winter I gave the bike to a mechanic to get her running smoothly, he did. The bike was rode around Chicago (where I live) for a few months. The bike was knocked over while parked on the road. This resulted in a dent on the tank, a tear on the seat, bend handlebars, out of adjusted levers, and a broken bar end mirror. The fall damage was repaired besides the dent in the tank and the tear on the seat. As I mentioned the bike was purchased with 700 original miles and I have rode it around Chicago and a few trips from Chicago to Greentown, IN and back, until the last trip where I left it (in a garage). I estimate the total mileage to be approximately 2000 miles. The mileage on the odometer is not accurate to the bike. The speedometer was purchased used on ebay with the high mileage already on the odometer. I took a few years off riding and have decided to move on from this vintage beauty. After resting in a garage I bought a new battery, added new gas with carb cleaner and fuel stabilizer, wiped the bike down, and she started up to a smooth pur within minutes! This made me very happy. The engine runs perfect. The carbs are tuned great (very happy with the last mechanic). The bike runs like a Honda should with 2000 miles, regardless of age. If you have made it this far through the listing you know the quality of these old CB Honda engines. I am amazed how well it runs myself. Video: http://youtu.be/3QReAe2JGzI Some electrical work is still needs to be done: -The battery drains dead quickly (this should be analyzed by a mechanic)-The horn does not work In addition to the bike the buyer will receive:-an original CB550K side panel ($45)-side panel decals -an additional original clutch lever ($30)-a 4 carb synchronizer set ($80)-a float level gauge tool ($23)-a pilot screw adjusting tool ($20)-chrome short stem mirror ($17) -various replacement bulbs-various cleaning supplies-a Clymer Honda CB350-550 SOHC Fours, 1971-1978 Manual ($37) Because the bike sat in a barn for 29 years, the title was lost. I bought the bike with no title. A bill of sale will be given to the buyer. It is up to the buyer to obtain a title through the state. There are also online services through companies in Maine that will provide a licence plate and tags through the State of Maine without a title. With just a bit more work this bike will be in near perfect condition. As mentioned before, this bike is capable of at least 4 hours trips and is perfect for commuting. A down payment of $200 will be required immediately after auction via PayPal. The remainder of the balance will be accepted only in cash. Local pickup is preferred; shipping is possible but is the sole responsibility of the buyer. The seller will provide no assistance/ packing for shipping. The bike should be picked up within 48 hours of auction close unless special circumstances are discussed with the seller. Please see my eBay rating and bid with confidence. Also, feel free to contact with any questions, I will check my messages frequently.
