Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1951 Ford Rat Rod. The car is basically a Chevy dressed like a Ford. It has a Chevy 350 Engine and a GM Muncie 4 speed Transmission. Still has the original rear end so I try not to beat on it too bad, was planning on swapping out for a Ford 9 inch rear at some point. It also has a grille from a 50's Chevy which gives it a very unique look. All the floors are solid in the car with no holes. The trunk, engine bay, and floors were all sprayed with truck bed-liner to prevent rust. The interior is very nice, has original paint on the dash board, has a steering column from a Chevy Caprice (I have a brand ne Grant Steering wheel I will be putting in soon) and a custom center console that holds a radio and speaker. It has a push button trunk release that works but needs a heavier duty spring that will pop the trunk on the first try, have to press it a couple times now to open the trunk. The original wiring harness was replaced with a newer one and all electronics were converted to 12v from 6v. Also have installed 4 new tires on the car and recently adjusted the breaks. This is a great little Rat Rod and can go really go in any direction, It can stay pretty much how it is and enjoy it as it is or do a little body work to it and a nice paint job and make it more of a show car. Only things the car needs at this point is two door windows, they are there but have cracks. Needs reverse lights ran, since this car was an automatic and now has a Muncie there needs to be a contact switch installed so the car knows when you are in reverse. And the wipers need to be hooked back up. All of these are pretty optional but are things I would fix if I were keeping the car. Car is being sold locally as well so auction may end early. Good luck and happy bidding. On May-10-13 at 12:50:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for sale is my 1951 Ford Rat Rod. The car is basically a Chevy dressed like a Ford.
