Offered for Sale by the California Automobile Museum
This beautifully kept 1962 Pontiac Bonneville has been part of the museum since 2004 when it was donated. This vehicle has been de-accessed and is ready for a new home. The history of this vehicle is unknown.
Exterior
The paint on the Bonneville is in good shape. It has been resprayed at some point in its life to the two-tone it now has. It was originally Cameo Ivory. The body seems to be very solid and the panels are all straight. The underside of this car looks to be very solid as well. There are some various small chips in the paint but it still presents well. The chrome bumpers are in nice shape and the chrome is in good condition. The trim on the vehicle is complete. The trim does have some spots where it is starting to pit but is very minimal. There is a dent on the right rear trim that surrounds the tail light.
Interior
The interior of the Pontiac is in fantastic shape. The vinyl seats are in great condition and are not ripped or torn and are comfortable. The door panels are in good shape and are complete. The dashboard does not have any cracks in it and is in nice shape. The carpets are clean and have little if any fading on them. The headliner is beautiful and is also complete.
Mechanical
The Bonneville runs well and idles nicely. We had the engine oil and filter changed. The transmission shifts as it should going down the road. The engine appears to be in original condition and is complete. This vehicle is equipped with power steering which works as it should. We had the brakes looked at and had to replace the master cylinder, both front wheel cylinders and both rear wheel cylinders, 3 new flex hoses and replaced the front brake shoes. The front wheels seals where also replaced at that time. The brake booster was in good condition. All of the windows roll up and down as they should. The doors shut nicely. The blinkers, headlights, taillights and backup lights all work as they should. The fuel gauge is not working. The radio and heater both work as they should.
Overview
This vehicle has sat in the museum since 2004 with little done to it until just before this listing in which we had the brakes looked at and had the engine checked before starting. Some vacuum lines were replaced to the brake booster. I would recommend that the transmission oil be changed.
We do not have any history on this vehicle as it was donated to us in the condition it sits and without any paperwork or receipts from any of its former owners.
