Vehicle Detail
This is an AHRMA legal, race ready 1973 Honda CR250 Elsinore. This is not a perfect restoration showpiece. It is a very well sorted out, race ready bike with all the bugs worked out. As a bonus, it just happens to look nice. The biggest downfall is that it needs fenders. The suspension has been modified with new internals and springs in the forks and Progressive shocks in the rear. The rear shock mounts have been lengthened to change the head tube angle for better handling. This is a reed valve motor with porting and a custom exhaust that runs like you can't believe. The transmission shifts great as well. This frame has also been modified with gussets in all of the weak spots and larger pegs have been welded on as well. Handlebars are TAG aluminum that are installed with adapters. This bike is not a shade tree hack job. It is a proven winner and has won countless races. I raced it with AHRMA for awhile and then my father raced it on TT's and short tracks as well. It has been known to beat modern bikes on many occasions at dirt track races. Dave Coupe and myself had epic battles in AHRMA races when he was racing Elsinore's as well. This bike is sold as off road, closed course use only and no title or registration is present. You may find a prettier showpiece bike but you would hard pressed to find a better running or faster bike for this price. This bike is ridden at motocross tracks to this day, by my father, and it always starts and runs perfect!!!!! As you can see, it has a little bit of dirt on it from the last time it was ridden (1 week ago). The paint on the frame and tank are in great shape. Any flaw you see in the paint on the tank is only dirt and will wipe right off. FYI.......motor was just freshened about 4 rides ago. Also, the last picture that you see is myself racing this bike at Tulare Cycle Park with AHRMA. It would draw crowds when on the track and I could practically turn lap times of modern bikes on the right track.
