For your consideration is a 1983 Volvo 240DL sedan in wonderful condition. This classic was lovingly maintained by its original owner throughout the years and it shows. Just look at the photos herein of the nicest 30 year old Volvo 240 I've ever seen. It has just 98,498 miles currently [subject to a few more since it is tagged and I do occasionally drive it or may show it to others as it is for sale locally as well]. While the original owner stated on the title upon transfer to me that the mileage was original, I make no guarantees and per current FL [previous title state] and SC law, mileage must be declared as EXEMPT on vehicles over 10 years of age. That said, the current SC title in my name shows EXEMPT but you've got to believe it looking at the overall condition. Okay, the car has undergone some extensive recent maintenance including new front struts, alignment, ball joints [$800]. New exhaust from the cat back and new oxygen sensor [$300] ~ the Lambda Sond [O2 sensor service light] on dash is illuminated ~ needs reset. New brakes, associated brake parts like calipers, pads, etc.... [$700]. New water pump and hoses/belts [$250]. New in tank fuel pump and relays [$200]. And 5 new tires including the spare [$550] all within the last 12 months ~ 2k miles. It runs and drives wonderfully, an absolute joy to drive and quite the attention getter! The car was parked/stored for long periods at a time as the original owner was a boater and would be out months at a time on the water. It was always lovingly stored away until the most recent few years it sat in outside storage. The dash suffered some cracks as a result of heat and age and it now wears a color matching dash mat to hide those cracks. Everywhere you look this car is as clean as a pin and mostly original. The interior is original and other than some wear on the drivers seat, it's in remarkable condition. Even the door map pockets are intact! The exterior is beautiful as well. The top surfaces from the belt/trim line up were repainted about a year ago due to some fading. The rest is original and the paint match is dead on, a very high quality job. It has a classic look with the original steel wheels, hub caps and trim rings. I had it detailed and asked them to add some stripes to bring it into the 21st Century. I asked them to use yellow so it kept with the Swedish color theme. They put on some simple yellow vinyl "fender hashes" which I think looks great and adds a rally race car inspiration. It does have A/C and although I was told it works, the air is not blowing cold currently and may need a charge or ? The rest is pretty basic, wind up windows, manual seats but it does have power steering, power brakes and central locking. The Volvo DL ~ "Deluxe" package at the time. There it is, a classic early Volvo 240 with the legendary red block engine that you can likely drive another 200k miles or tuck it away and use it for special events/shows. Truly a Volvo enthusiasts dream. I welcome personal inspections prior to purchase. I'm not asking a fortune here and for the $ I don't know where you'd find another as nice [just check the others listed on eBay ~ shew!] for this price.
