Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an 87' T-top Grand National. Those of you who know these cars know that this was the fastest production car built for several years, and this one is modified to run a seriously quick quarter mile. The good: There has been a TON of work done to this car, when tuned properly this should easily be a high 10, low 11 second car. From memory, just a few things that the car has: Rebuilt engine with forged internals (probably less than 10K miles on it), 70mm throttle body, 55# injectors, walbro fuel pump, adjustable wastegate, GN1 heads, 3" downpipe, dual 2.5" exhaust, huge turbo (believe it is a t43, but not 100% sure, rebuilt in the last 10K miles), beefed up transmission with 3500 stall converter to handle the extra power, huge front mount intercooler with upgrade to radiator to ensure no heat issues (I've driven this in 115 degree AZ weather with no problem), custom programmed computer chip, aluminum torque thrust II wheels with Nitto drag radials on the back (less than 2K miles on wheels and tires), air bags, alchohol injection system, brand new A/C system, GNX dash, hurst race shifter system, custom guage pods with knock guage, full custom stereo system including Qlogic kickpanels with high end speakers, two amps and dual subwoofers (although I would think about pulling this out if the buyer isn't interested). I'm sure there is a ton of other parts/items that I haven't mentioned for this car. I have probably invested 10-15K in the car since I've owned it if not more. This does not include the initial price of the car. The bad: Paint is faded and in bad shape, body is ok. Interior has some rips/tears. There was, at one point a full roll bar in the car. I had the side bars removed but the rear bar remains. Car has 5 point harness installed and in place. Guess this could be good or bad depending what you are looking for. The stereo is setup to run a computer system which is not in the car anymore, but all components can easily be used with a new headunit and/or cpu system put back in the car. The speedometer on the GNX dash is missing the needle, can either be re-attached or will require a new VDO guague (readily available) for operation. Also note that the vehicle history report shows that the dash has been replaced with the GNX dash, it shows this as an "odometer rollback". The car starts up and runs very well and very fast, however I haven't driven the car much in the last two years...there may be some other miscellaneous items to be fixed before the car is 100%. I'm providing as many pictures and videos of the car as I can, and will take more of specific areas upon request. I welcome anyone that would like to inspect the car before purchase, car is sold as is where is. This car is listed with NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder. Someone will get a great deal on this car, bid to win. Below are some videos that I took of the car this morning. As you can tell the car runs and sounds great, and is very fast. I wish I could take some longer videos of the car accelerating but we don't have too many long straight roads around here and the car gets up to speed unbelievably fast. It also spins the tires if you punch it going down the road at 30-40mph.
