I haden't ridden since an R75 and an R90 the early 1980's. When I got the bugagain I contacted the original owner of BMW DeMoines, Iowa. After several emails and an extended phone conversation he recomended a carborated RS. After an extensive search I found this immaculate one owner beauty in Northern Varginia. It is constantly mistaken for a new bike. It is registered in my name on St Simons Island, GA but is currently located at our summer home in East Tawas, MI. (48730) The original owner is employed in Law Enforcment in DC and was injured on the job. His insurance paid to have BMW prep the bike for long term storage and eventually to do everything imaginable before putting her back on the road. During my tenure I have only driven 397 miles. I am busy preping my sailboat for a 3000 mile three month trip and decided it is foolish to have a super bike just sitting. I purchased crash guards which are included but never installed.She only has one small 3/8 inch flaw under the seat. I hope it will be visuable in the photos. The only other issue is that although it is a fairly new battery, my wife unpluged the battery tender while I was traveling and the battery went dead. Since that time the ABS light sometimes flashes. The reset procedure looks straight forward but I haven't gotten around to it. The factory Red bags do have a some scratches but are keyed to the bikes ignition key. Original owners manual and two service manuals are included. The bike is pick up only but if discussed ahead of time I could probably Work something out to ride the bike somewhere convenient for expenses.I had some difficulty loading photos but will be happy to send any view requested to an email adddress. I think a project 500 or single carb 650 Triumph will be more my speed.
