Vehicle Detail

1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible 4x Nice Az Desert Find / Barn Find almost Dont chop up the body and you cant lose, its a sound investment. Whens the last time youve ever even seen one of these ????? the made aprox 2800 convertibles total and about only 800 where 4x4s , in 1989 Dodge Dakotas kicked butt !! Even Shelby got in on the action and built a few Shelby Versions !! Original from front to back even down to the factory paint which is missing in places. 80s paint jobs where not all that great anyways. But the truck has NO RUST or Bondo at all. Starts / Runs and drives great ! even took it up a few hills around the city in the desert. Other off roaders couldnt believe it. My biggest issue with the truck, when it gets down to about 1/4 or 1/2 a tank, it basically stops and feels like it runs out of gas. Put gas in it and it runs normal. Not sure if the fuel pump gets warm at that point and it give up or what. So it will need that to be fixed in the near future unless you just keep half a tank of gas or more in it all the time. I was thinking maybe the gauge was wrong and maybe its really empty ???!!! It will be something the new owner will have to check out. Either way, fuel pumps are not $ anymore and it could be a very simple fix. I just have no time at the moment to mess with it. Also, the tires are bad. Which is good because most people are very particular as to what tires brand and size they want so the new owner can put what they like on it to drive around on for the next 5 yrs. AC works too ! A real nice unmolested survivor you wont up for sale much anymore. Most are crushed or sitting safely away in collectors garages. DRIVETRAIN: As mentioned earlier, original V6 truck with the factory TBI injection. Auto trans with on the fly 4x4 shifting PS, PDB everything Ive looked at on the truck and tested seems to work well, no problems. Fires right up all the time, motor sounds good, trans shifts fine, did notice a small trans leak I think its coming from the driveshaft rear seal. Its small but wanted to mention it EXTERIOR: older 80s paint is flat and dull, body is amazingly straight. For a car this old, its survived quite well. Even the factory foglights work, top and plastic window in better shape then expected too. 88,000 Miles on the odometer, could be original but cant say for sure. The truck looks like its never even been in a fender bender, and look ANYWHERE and you wont find rust problems. We can help you look too because we have over 100 pics of the truck below for your viewing pleasure so its almost like standing next to the truck in person and you can any good, bad or ugly. INTERIOR: typical cracked dash from the AZ heat, door panels dry and plastic and weatherstripping getting a little dry. carpet is pretty beat. Front Bench Seats not bad for a daily driver. Car could be driven as is no problem and you wouldnt be that embarrassed haha. Convertible Top works VERY easy and well. Un-latch both latches from the inside and manually, slowly push the top back until it collapses on itself and your done. This car is very rust free Arizona car compared to any east-coast or midwest similar cars. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you go, Im sure I missed some info about the car. This is probably The BEST represented Mopars on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. CLEAR ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND I wont end the auction early !! CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. But keep in mind, the car cant ship until you get your title from us in hand. This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises and our Feedback speaks for itself ! EMAIL US WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE !! Car will obviously ship as an INOP. IF you need a shipping quote, just email us with your city/state and Ill find out our best quote for you !! No problem helping it to the docks if you are shipping overseas . If there is a winner, please email me when the auction ends and say Hi and we can take it from there. Bank Wires need to be prompt if you are out of the country because they always seem to take longer then expected. I bank with B of A which makes things easy for many out of state for payment. direct deposit or Cashier checks If you wire the funds we must add a $50 fee that our bank charges us. must clear before car can move. Its a sign of the times, sorry. IF RESERVES NOT MET, email us anyway maybe we can work out a deal after it ends. NO PAYPAL, sorry. Must be paid within 5 days of auction On May-03-13 at 00:10:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention 2 things. I dont recall of the windshield has a crack or not Ill checktomorrow.AND, the last owner had spray painted the alloy wheels semi-flat black paint.I wanted to see how it would look stock again, so I took some paint stripper and scotchbrite pad and spent about 30 min stripping off the black paint. With it came some of the original clearcoat too. I think the factory alloys look better without paint. But this is why in the pics one side the rims look stock and the other side they are black.
