1969 Lotus Elan +2 Rare right hand drive car original paint fiberglass body brand new primered steel chassis. This 1969 Lotus Elan +2 comes with a brand new chassis. The chassis can be see on the scrolling banner above this description I will add a few pictures of the chassis on the auction picture pack just in case. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING This 1969 Elan +2 (needless to say) is a restoration project The body is very much complete except the front and rear windshields The body does not show any major damage or collision No repairs no major cracks other than age wrinkles. Although the body is very much intact there are parts that have been damaged by time, use and climate agents. A fiberglass expert would need to address these points and make repairs accordingly. This car does not have the VIN tag that is supposed to be on the firewall top left side of the engine bay. I also have been looking for a chassis number and I haven't found any. In other words there is no VIN number nor chassis number that I could find I will be looking throughly again and I will update the auction in case I do find anything. I purchased this car from a local couple who owned the vehicle for at least 5 years. Their intention was to restore the Lotus though an expected relocation made them give up their restoration project. The vehicle was left in the backyard since the day they purchased the car under a bed of tree leaves and dust. I had the car completely and professionally cleaned. I threw away all the rotted and unsalvageable pieces. I kept all that could be used or reproduced. I cleaned everything and set it all in order. This is a rare right hand drive Lotus that was originally born that way, although, there are several baskets with parts including the linkage to turn that car into a left hand drive. The chassis is MINT. This is a 4 disc brakes all around vehicle. I went thru all the parts and everything should be there in order to build a moving chassis. There is no engine and I purchased the car without the engine but the Ford 4 speed manual transmission which I believe is the one that came with the car is there. I will clean up the codes on the tranny and I will enter them in the auction. I do also have a brand new ZF 4 speed transmission which I will include in the auction and that should be a perfect fit for this car. I will also include a picture of that tranny with all the codes/numbers. The body is sitting on 2 carpet rollers and can be pushed and moved around easily. It can be loaded up into a flat bed with extreme ease. Although the chassis is pretty heavy 4 men can lift it up and move it around. This Elan comes with its original 5 wheels complete with 4 beauty rims and spinners. I can assist and help with international shipping although I am not sure if the body or the chassis, both or seperately can be shipped without proper paperwork or title. This is something I will investigate this week and I will have a satisfying enswer should an international buyer show interest. Please contact me if you have any specific questions. This car is located inside my warehouse in Gardena and can be fully inspected if desired. I am also open to sell just the body of the car and keep the chassis in case your beloved +2 was involved into a major accident or collision.
