Here is the chance of a lifetime to acquire an absolutely beautiful, collector quality 1979 Datsun 280ZX. This specimen has actual documented mileage of 29,321 and is the definition of a true surviving, time capsule. Originally purchased in September of 1979 at Hoselton Datsun in Rochester, NY this Z was meticulously maintained by its owner who was absolutely in a love affair with this beauty. Garage kept, covered and pampered since the day he took possession of it, it was only taken out and driven on the nicest of days and has never seen rain or inclement weather of any kind. It has never had and damage or been involved in any accidents of any kind. I have had the privilege of being the third owner of it, during which I have put fewer than 1000 of those miles on it. It has spent the entire time under the cover in my temperature controlled shop where it has been the crown jewel of my car collection. It has been only taken out for the occasional car shows I am only parting with it in order to free up some space and funds to complete my other projects. The car has a January 1979 build date and is the rare 638 (Black Pearl) paint code which was only available as a standard color option for 1979. Paired with the red interior, it is a rare combination. The turbine wheels and pin striping are dealer options that were added to the car prior to the original owner taking possession when new. It also received dealer option undercoat rust protection when new. The only other modification is the light window tinting I had added to keep the UV rays from affecting the red interior while sitting in the sun at shows. I am very picky about the appearance of my cars and can tell you I would give this one an overall rating of a 9.5 out of 10 with the exterior, interior and drivetrain all scoring at the 9.5 mark, as far as I am concerned. It runs flawlessly and drives as new, during the time that it was possessed by the first owner it had regular maintenance of which I have all available records for. Because I'm so super picky, I have noticed a couple very minor blemishes on the care that are limited to some very minor fading on a couple of the interior panels and a very tiny ding on the front bumper (hardly noticable) and a few very tiny paint chips that have been touched up. Also included with the sale of this car is the dealer option cover, both original Datsun keys, the original touch up paint (which is still good) all of the documentation and maintenance records that I received with it. Mechanically, she is powered by an inline L28 2.8L 6-cylinder motor, mated to highly sought after 5 speed manual transmission, Combined with the reliable Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system. She is very economical to run and very very reliable. She starts up immediately, runs perfectly smooth with no noises, smoke or rattles of any kind. She drives straight and does not pull to the sides with no vibration at any speed (very solid composed feel). Clutch engages smoothly and transmission shift very nice with no synchronizer issues. All the gauges and accessories function properly as they should. No disappointments! Please don't bid unless you have the funds avaialble.
