Call Mike at 408-768-7647 Up for auction is a 1956 Chevy Bel Air Station Wagon. It was custom built in 2001 for a client whose main goal was to have this car be extremely dependable and driver friendly for him and his wife. Since completion less than 10k miles have been put on the car. All the work was done by Hennessy Auto Repair in Santa Clara, CA. A 350 crate engine with 4bbl and 350 turbo hydromatic transmission was installed. We upgraded to a 605 power steering unit, and added Vintage Air A/C which was designed to be built under the dash and included a built in defroster. We installed an Ididit tilt steering column, a custom order Colorado steering wheel, and added cruise control. The brakes in the car are 4 wheel power brakes with front disc brakes. It stops absolutely perfectly. The paint is a 2 tone with white and Chevrolet light turquoise blue. Bumpers were rechromed and look great . The stainless on the car is in very good condition with the small exception of a small wave on the driver side stainless strip which is hardly noticeable. This is a rust free car inside and outside. All of the side windows have a light tint that was professionally done with the glass out of the car. All of the door rubber and seals are in great condition which you can see from the photographs. The seats and door panels are all in excellent condition and were custom designed by Mt. View Interiors with new carpets and headliner. A custom made center console was added in the front seat can be easily removed if you don’t like it, but it makes a great arm rest, drink holder, and glove box. The automatic floor shifter gives the car a great street rod feel and shifts perfectly. I tried to cover this car the best I could to let you know that all of the lights and turn signals and driveability of this car is in excellent condition. Two items do not work on the car which are the digital tach along with the analog tach mounted on the steering column. There is also a very small tear in the front corner of the passenger side headliner. The pot metal chrome of the gas cap door/taillight is in good original condition meaning it is not perfect but is better than acceptable. This car is designed to be a great local street driver to neighborhood car shows. I believe the condition of this car would allow it to drive from California to New York.
