Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVEDON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY 1961 Willys Jeep CJ-5 in "very good" conditionI bought this truck from an older gentleman here in town a few years back - He used it and a trailor (not included in sale but can be purchased as well) to pick up firewood but was getting to old to climb in and out of the jeep.It was in great shape when I bought it - I fixed up alot the the electrical items - added a c.d. player (not in the dash so as to not mess that up) - I added a rear seat (and seatbelts) I had made and covered to match the front seats. Underneith we changed almost every gasket and changed all fluids - front alxe, rear axle, valve cover gasket, side oil gasket, oilpan gasket, transfer case gasket, transmission gasket - it was getting old and time to get them all in shape. There is still a small leak i have not had time to find - oil i believe. there is also a small leak in the master cylinder - i already have a new one and it comes with the truck but have not had the time to put it in.The odometer reads 1234 but the gentelman that owned it before me had changed it out so i have no idea of the actual miles. I have put just over 1000 miles on it since i bought it.It comes with the soft top seen in the pictures - it's in pretty good shape as well. The windshield folds down very easily. The 4WD works in both HIGH and LOW ranges. The 3 speed shifts great and the clutch feels tight i've never had an issue with either one. Everything on the dash works except the heat on/off pull and the vent on/off pull - both of these can be worked from under the hood - the blower motor even works great for the heat. It's top speed is around 60 mph because of the gears which i believe are the original 5.38 that came in that years cj5 - so it climbs up anything - I never took it much above 45 and never really off roaded it except for a trail here and there. It has always been garage kept and i never took it out in the snow (or salt) but did get caught in the rain once or twice. We took it to a few car shows and with the windshield down people go nuts for it.It does have some dings and scratches and is not in perfect shape - it is a 1961 after all - but that being said i would say it is in at least "very good" condition.I'm sure i'm leaving out a ton of stuff so please e-mail me or call me with any questions (maxwatson@atlanticbb.net or 240-727-5894 - Max Watson) and I will get back with you a.s.a.p.The buyer pays all shipping costs or can pick it up for free locally (Cumberland Maryland, 21502)A $500 non refundable deposit will need to be made to my paypal acccount within 24 hours of winning bid. The account balance can be paid via certified check upon picking up the vehicle or before it is loaded to be shipped. Thanks for lookingRiehlmax
