Vehicle Detail
Here is my mostly stock original 1978 Jeep CJ5. It is in good condition with little rust. Not Restored or even repainted! The Jeep was undercoated when it was new. Thats why is still in good shape. Jeep has had 3 owners before me. One of them being a used car dealer that took it on trade. That is who I bought the jeep from. The Jeeps original title said 30,xxx miles but the title clerk argued with me about the mileage saying there is no way it was that low. Since I didn't have the mileage verified she put a 1 in front so the title says 130841. :( I used this to push snow in 3 different homeowner communities this year and it worked Excellently! The Jeep has no options other than it was born with a Factory Jeep hard top and a Snow Plow. I installed a new gas tank and sending unit. Replaced the water pump, Hoses, Thermostat, Fuel pump and rebuilt the carburetor. I did a half fast repair on the passenger's side floor with aluminum street signs. Not pretty but works! I used POR-15 on everything I did! When I had the gas tank out I used a whole Quart painting the underside and frame with it. Everything works and I drive it a couple of times a week to work. I did add the longer shackles to slightly lift the jeep so I could push snow up and over the parking curbs. I also added a 3rd trip spring to the snow plow. I do have the original roll bar and hardware to go with the Jeep. Any questions feel free to ask! Check out my other items! 258 6 Cylinder engine. 3 speed transmission. No power steering or Power Brakes. If you win the auction and do not want the steel half cab I have an excellent full steel Factory Jeep hard top to swap it with.On Apr-06-13 at 06:18:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of questions about the Jeep. I installed a power steering pump and brackets as I was going to add power steering and never bought a box to finish the conversion. The Jeep runs and drives is tagged and insured. I drive it a couple of times a week to and from work. The tires are in excellent shape. The spare is no good (Doesn't hold air) but is original to the Jeep. The drivers side floor is soft and will need to be repaired/replaced sometime in the future. The Jeep is roadworthy and can be driven home after the title work is done. Everything is in working order and ready for a new home. Thanks, Steve (cooljeepcj5)
