I got this CT70K3 bike sight unseen from the second owner who bought it for his 6-year-old son in 1974. While my intention was to give my kids something to putt around the neighborhood on, as soon as I saw this Trail 70, I knew that it was something far too special to let the kids loose on. First of all, it only has about 3300 miles. In fact, in the last 29 years in Arizona, only 400 miles have been put on! I didn't want to ruin any originality or inadvertently mess anything up Beyond wiping it down, the only thing I have done since purchasing is clean out the gas tank and the carb. It kicks over on the first or second kick, and it runs 35 mph with no effort at all. The three speed shifts great (and has a cool heel/toe shifter) and the brakes stop like they should. It is street legal and has a clean title. It was last registered in AZ in 1990. The paint is GORGEOUS - the metallic CTO (Candy Topaz Orange) paint shines beautifully now, and would be even better with some good wax. There is NO rust, and the original seat is in PERFECT condition. No pitting on the chrome fenders or bars. I'm not an expert, and although it appears to be complete, UNRESTORED, and original to my eye, a pro would surely spot some deficiencies. I've tried to list those problems that I am aware of. Known issues: Kick starter lever broken. Shock boots crumbling No mirrors Needs a turn signal/horn switch Misc. small scratches Turn signal lens missing a piece. Tool kit missing (but owner's manual is here) *** I am happy to take close-up photos of any areas you'd like a better look at. Inspections are welcome at your expense and at my availability.
