Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this original '53 Pontiac 2 door hardtop. 41,880 original miles! This car starts, runs, drives and brakes just great. The body is 100% solid. The rockers are solid as are the floorpans with absolutely no rust through. You can tell by looking that it is 41K original miles. It is hard to find in this condition. It has the original flathead six 239.2 cu. in and a 3 spd on the column manual trans. The engine runs smooth with no smoking and shifts smoothly as well! This car is a real joy to drive. Check out all the chrome! The bumpers are in perfect shape and the stainless trim is good also. There are a few small dings in the stainless trim, but not bad! (See pictures) The car has been repainted. The are some small bubbles in the paint along the rocker, but they are so small you have to look close to see them. There are no patch panels or bondo at all. The engine compartment and trunk are very nice & clean.(see pictures) The glass is all good with one small bb chip in the back side window about an 1/8 in. and a small chip in the windshield that could be fixed with injection resin.(approx. 1/4 in.) You can hardly see it.Windows roll up and down very nicely, doors close nicely. Also, the interior is very nice original shape. Seats have the period correct covers. Nice dash & the headliner is good with minor stain from age. The lights all work the horn blows very loud. The blinkers and brake lights work. The speedo cable is broke and the instrument panel lights won't come on. Either bulbs are burned out or rio stat on light switch is burned out. That shouldn't be hard to get working. The tires are good and the hubcaps look like brand new. The radio is original and works! & sounds good too. It takes the tubes a couple minutes to warm up and then it plays! & that is very cool. The heater fan works, guages work with exception of the gas guage which always reads full. The original owners manuals are in the glovebox. I believe the muffler is fairly new as when the car is running you can barely hear it. It has a new battery and cables. This car is very affordable with a reserve well under $8K. The heater core was leaking so was taken out for repair, it is in a coffee can in the trunk. This car is in awesome original shape with only minor issues.(heater core, dash lights & speedo cable) I try to be complete in describing this vehicle, however, I urge you to email early and before the end of the auction with any questions, to share phone numbers so we can further discuss this vehicle. A $1000.00 non-refundable downpayment is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction to PayPal. The balance is due in full within 7 days of the end of the auction as cash in person or wired to or bank account. The balance will NOT be accepted into PayPal. Any additional wiring fees for the buyer or seller are the responsibility of the buyer. This car is currently stored in a garage and can remain there for 30 days to allow for pick up or transportation. The buyer is responsible to arrange and pay for transportation of the car. This is a very quality auto in good shape.
