Here we have a nice 1955 VW Beetle for your driving pleasure. This was purchased by me in July 2011 in order to bring back my youth. I recently purchased a 2013 VW convertible limited 50's special edition so I feel it is time to let someone else enjoy this 1955. I've had a great deal of fun driving the '55 and it has been reliable. Here are the particulars; It has the original interior (Red German Vinyl) which has NO rips or tears, just the normal wear for its age. The same goes for the carpet. The headliner is a nice replacement. Original instruments function properly. The original steering wheel shows the normal wear. The body had been repainted several years prior to my ownership. Little if any rust. The car spent many years in CA and AZ. The hood (as seen in the pictures) has a slight wrinkle on the drivers side when it was improperly closed without real easing the latch. It does close and latch properly. The semaphores had worked properly until recently when I decided to unplug them as they need some minor tweaking to release properly. The regular turn signals will work properly both front and rear if the semaphores are reconnected. The bumpers have decent chrome for their age. Prior to my ownership, a newer engine and correct transmission (with synchromesh) was installed. The engine # is H5775270. As stated it runs very well. It has a 12 volt electrical system and upgraded disc brakes in the front. When the engine was installed they did not set it up with a heater function as it was used in a warm climate. The tires have many miles remaining on the tread. The original owners manual will be included. It has a clean Nebraska title and I will supply a "Bill of Sale" as well.
