Vehicle Detail
1969-70 Honda Mini Trail K1 No Reserve, it sells at end of auction Up for sale is my ’69 Honda Mini Trail, model K1. It has been stored in my garage for many years, basically a piece of garage art. I need to make some room, so it’s up for sale. I have not started it in many years. I have no doubt that it will start and run just fine with some basic refreshing. The gas tank and float bowl have been kept empty. Issues: No title The kick starter had a small spot weld to hold it in place. It doesn’t pinch tight enough to kick start. I push started it the last time it ran. The right side case has JB-weld in a scored area of the case. The handlebar knobs are not the same. The rear tire does not hold air for very long and the front tire does not hold air at all. It appears to be the tire bead seal around the rim. It has a non-OEM kick stand. It has a non-OEM seat. Payment: Money Order or CASH – no other form of payment will be accepted. The Mini Trail will be held until the Money Order clears. Cash Money will be verified at my bank before release of the Mini Trail. Please take no offenses; there is a lot of counterfeit currency floating about. Payment expected within 5 days. The Mini Trail is being sole AS IS. No warranty is implied or provided. I will make it available for inspection to serious buyers only. Any questions, you can reach me at the following: russv2@cox.net On Apr-04-13 at 07:56:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Details requested I purchased the K1 from a local, well known, Mini Trail restorer. I know the frame has been repainted and I believe the gas tank has been repainted as well. This example is not his finest work, but I didn’t need that. Do the ID numbers on the neck and at the bottom of the engine match and what are they. The VIN is listed and is located on the engine case on the left side below the shifter and on the frame where the rear axle bolt is located. There is no VIN Id on the neck and I’m told by my friend who is a Honda dealer that the VIN on the engine never matches the frame on any Honda. Regarding the weld on the kick start, is the kick shaft stripped? Will it start by using the kick start? The kick starter is basically stripped out. It will not kick start. The spines on the kick start shaft appear to be fine. So, a new kick starter is needed to be able to kick start it. Are the tires replacement or original and if they were reseated do you think they would hold air? I don’t know if either are original. The rear will hold air but the front will not. The front really needs to be replaced. Is it missing the battery? No Battery. Do all the lights function? I do not know, because I never used / checked them. I believe the wiring is correct for the lights and would be functional, but I did not verify their operation. Are either of the fenders dented? The fenders have a few small dings. They’re not creased anywhere. Are the handlebars replacements and what is the button on the top left handlebar just next to the grip? Could that be the horn button area due to the handlebars being from a CT70? The handle bar switch is for the head light. It looks like all wiring is in place. The handle bar is not from a CT70. The Mini Trail is a great starting point for a restoration project. I purchased it mainly as “garage art” and never had any ambition to restore it correctly. If all the detail issues were resolved, I’d be asking way more than I am. FYI. The tail light bracket is not original to the bike. Very possible.
